The location of the hotel is perfect and right in the centre of town. The medina and train stations are a short walk away. The train station for the trains to Sidi Bou Said and Carthage is a short walk away. Taxis are also easily available right outside the hotel. The airport is also nearby, but since we left early morning for our flight, we pre-booked our taxi for a flat charge. The promenade outside the hotel is beautiful and great for a evening walk and there were sufficient dining options even on a Sunday evening. Sidi Bou Said is worth a visit and we enjoyed our visit. This is an exquisitely decorated, beautful place to stay. The room was very comfortable and the staff exceptionally helpful. It is in a quiet area away from the old city which is always incredibly busy and noisy. The pool was beautuful as was the garden. If you are a history fan and like monuments or beaches, this will be your favorite destination. BUT There are some unmentioned rules: 1. Bargaining (the prices are higher than they should be, so do not forget to bargain) 2. NEVER buy anything from the stalls outside of monuments. They usually sell tooooo expensive, even if you bargain to a quarter of the price, it is still expensive. I had a very bad experience, unfortunately. 3. Be careful with your pockets and be aware of using your phone in the streets. 4. The prices in the cartage land are very good for buying handicrafts. 5.
