- From US$72.05 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 310 reviewsWe loved staying here so much! The best part, by far, was the kindness and hospitality that Daro and May showed us. They were so warm, thoughtful, and generous. Daro picked us up from the train station long after check in because we missed our first train. May helped us book a tour and gave us lovely recommendations on what to do in the area. Both were joyful and kind, and it’s clear that they have a beautiful life nestled in the mountains there by Taroko. The breakfast was so lovely and homemade, and had lots of variety, with a more traditional Taiwanese offering on one side and a more Western breakfast set up on the other. Our room was huge, so clean and comfortable, and had these gigantic windows that let in the most magnificent light. The B&B was surrounded by a garden around which family pets roamed and countless gorgeous butterflies floated about at all hours. The view is unbeatable - Taroko is right behind you, and you wake up to the sun coming over the mountains in a way that is just breathtaking. Can’t recommend staying here enough. So glad we did this instead of staying in Hualien, which was very reachable by taxi when we wanted to go to the night market, but instead we got to enjoy being five minutes from the park in the most beautiful home with the loveliest people!Guest review byGwendolynTaiwan
- From US$98.25 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.8Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 163 reviewsI don’t think there are enough words to describe our experience at George Coffee Homestay. It’s a beautiful location in the heart of Taroko, perfect if you want to go visit the national park. The hosts are just the most welcoming and warmest people I’ve ever met. They make you feel like home right away and truly go the extra mile to make sure you having a great time by recommending places to eat, trails, and things to visit. They were so kind and though this was not part of their responsibility, they’ve taken time to introduce us to the town, culture of Taroko people, history, traditions and a little bit of their beautiful and unique family story. We finished the night by making our own lucky bracelets which I personally loved and the highlight of the night was them playing a song that Boya wrote to Lisa about their love story. The room is super nice and big, cozy and very clean. The breakfast was delicious every morning and the best part if of course drinking their own coffee. If you’re looking for a place in Taroko, you don’t want to miss out on George Homestay! :)Guest review byDenisa MunteanSpain
- From US$129.53 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 315 reviewsWe had very late arrival and planned to take a taxi from the train station, only to find that there are no taxis at that time. Turned out there was only one car in the parking lot, that of the owner who decided to pick us up!! Couldn't have had a better start ;-) Owner is so very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very good and the staff is also very friendly. The rooms are spacious and clean. Garden is very nice and the location is so close to the entrance to the Gorge. Again the owner offered to drop us off at the station to rent a scooter (big tip to explore the Gorge). I highly recommend this small family owned hotelGuest review bymartienNetherlands
- From US$52.40 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very good - What previous guests thought, 470 reviewsLiwu Hotel is a five minute walk away from the Taroko Gorge Visitor’s center and a 30-minute walk away from the park’s famous Shakadang Trail. You can’t get any better location-wise than this. It is also walking distance from a 7-Eleven where there is an international ATM and trail snacks as well as great restaurants. The staff was very friendly, location is clean, and the breakfast was tasty, too! I am so thankful to the staff who, when I left my water bottle in the room were kind enough to send it to my next hotel.Guest review byCJJapan

The owners of Ubus B&B 箼篰斯民宿 are some of the nicest people I have met in Taiwan and I already lived here for little over a year. She and her friend are local Taroko natives. The second that we entered her B&B she gave us drip coffee and steamed bamboo with rice. I took my partner and my mom here, they both loved how comfortable the place is. We booked the two double bed (around 4545 NTD, a little over 130), but it included breakfast and snacks. Not only that, but she took both my partner and I to Taroko Shakandang Trail, picked us up on the way back, waited for us to get food at 7/11, AND the following day took us to the train station out of pure kindness. Since we had to leave early we did not have breakfast, so she gave us a bit of money back covering the breakfast! Its been a long time since I met someone with that amount of kindness. The day that we left, my partner forgot her apple watch, and the NEXT DAY she sent via mail to our place. She never asked for money in return and we are grateful. Definitely coming back some time in the future. The facility is clean, the shower is big and comfortable, the kitchen has all types of utilities (air fryer, microwave, coffee makers, wifi, etc). I highly recommend this place since its not only accommodating, but right NEXT to Taroko National Park. Amazing experience.Guest review byJimenezUnited States
