- From US$259.81 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very good - What previous guests thought, 232 reviewsFrom the moment we arrived at Konokono Resort, we were utterly captivated by the breathtaking views and tranquil atmosphere. The location is absolutely perfect—peaceful, relaxing, and a true escape from the stresses of everyday life. The private beach and various unique villas (including the amazing water villa) are nothing short of spectacular, offering the ultimate in seclusion and serenity, making it an ideal spot for complete relaxation. Another standout feature of our stay was the fine dining experience and great selection of food. What truly elevated our experience was the outstanding Konokono team. The management, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was flawless. They were always approachable, warm, and genuinely invested in creating unforgettable experiences for their guests. Whether it was assisting with a special request or simply checking in to ensure everything was perfect, their dedication to hospitality was clear and truly made all the difference. One thing that particularly impressed us was how accommodating the resort was with our baby. The team was incredibly thoughtful, providing us with the necessary amenities and making sure we had everything we needed to keep our little one comfortable. Before our trip, I had come across concerns about power outages in other reviews. However, after experiencing it for myself, I can confidently clarify that these outages are a result of issues with the island’s main power supply and are beyond the control of any resort (feel free to research this for more context). What impressed us most is that we never felt the impact at Konokono—whenever there was a disruption, their efficient backup generator kicked in immediately, ensuring that our experience was uninterrupted. A special mention must be made of the outstanding service from General Manager Mr. Joab, Restaurant Maestro Mohamed, and Reservations Specialist Rosemary.Guest review byJoshlinSouth Africa
- From US$200 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 166 reviewsI usually dont write long reviews but this time I have to. Milele Beach Resort is the place where you really enjoy your holiday, where you can rest, chill and feel relaxed. The place is beautiful, designed with style and passion. It's placed on an amazing beach. Lisa the owner is very friendly and open person, thinking about everything. She took us by her jeep to the village for shopping. Her son Niccolo is a manager with big heart, he is very friendly and professional, always trying to help you. Valeria and Bruno the restaurant managers are great and so kind treating you as a friend. The whole staff are very professional, smiled and you feel that they care about you. Especially Theresa and Omar were amazing. Our room was cleaned every day, fresh towels, bottles of water, tea&coffee. They really care about their guests. The place is literally on the beach so it's a really high score for Milele that even on very tough nature conditions they make it happen 10/10. Respect. The restaurant is great, dishes are delicious and fresh, same as the breakfast. Homemade jam, fresh juices, chef prepares omelette etc. Everyone will find something for themselves. Me and my Wife spent 10 days here and we highly recommend this place, we are lucky we chose Milele Beach Resort. If you plan to visit Zanzibar this is the place.Guest review byMattstormyPoland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.9Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 69 reviewsThe staff is beyond friendly and helpful. The room was great, bed was very comfy and a big bathroom with great shower and buthtub. The hotel is very private and there are many great places to sunbath and relax. Breakfast is served on your balcony, which makes it also very private. Wide range of possibilites to chose from. Dinner is served wherever one wants it. Overall great food. The beach is clean, one can snorkel (best at low tide) and go to the sandbank just in front of the hotel. Overall we had an outstanding stay and totally recommend staying at Matlai.Guest review byRobertGermany

Michamvi is good for relaxing and enjoying .
Michamvi is good for relaxing and enjoying . There are few vendors and they are not disturbing you and friendly. We stayed 25 days at Kikoi Boutique Resort and arranged all excursions on Zanzibar as well as a Safari with Sir Alex at Kikoi for reasonable prices and with good service . Their Cook Mister Mahaveer Sing is a real Master Chef and we enjoyed every meal he prepared us . Compliments to all the people working there. You made our stay unfogettable. Greetings Paula& Johannes from The Netherlands . We are looking forward to come back again .Guest review byJohannesNetherlands - 8.0

Please remember that Marumbi is a Village in a poor third world country and therefore there is very little to do. A few local shops. A couple of local Restaurants (We loved Bustani), no bars and a hotel that doesn’t welcome outsiders. If you are looking for nightlife it’s probably not for you.Guest review byJeffreyUnited Kingdom - 10.0

This area has less tourism than some other areas in Zanzi bar, it has what you need, different restaurangs, a super market, beachbar and so on. There is not so many other tourists here so you feel like its really a part of an small island. If you are looking for highend dining and alot of shopping then i advise you to look for another area or do as we did - get a car or a taxi its ok priced for a full day. The traffic was really suprising - its was better then most so called modern countries - slow, keeping distance -respecting each other - we rented a car for 3 days and it was super nice. We payed 30usd/day + 10usd for the local driving license - dont drive to fast or drunk - the police are really on there toes - and mind the big roadbumps... We ate a lot of lobster and fish - always fresh - never dissapointed, we also ate alot of vegetarian food - its everywere great dishes.Guest review byAffeSweden - 8.0

It was amazing!! Beautiful place and unbelievable accommodation. Food great . The service from the staff was the best ever !!! Both of us fell in love with all of the people working there . Cannot recommend Pongwe Island enough ❤️Guest review byRoyUnited Kingdom - 6.0
The location was excellent.
The location was excellent. The vegetation was very nice, and the seating places were very comfortable. Following my unfavourable interaction with cats, we were upgraded to a bigger room with an ocean view since I have ailurophobia (cat phobia). Thanks to the hotel owners for such a gesture. We had an issue with our bank card, and they also gave us more time during our stay to sort this out. Disliked · Being an Ailurophobia (Cats phobic), I did not enjoy the outdoor space because several cats roamed everywhere, including the restaurant, balconies and stairs. This has nothing to do with the owners but my personal condition. I advise those with similar conditions to avoid this place. Areas of improvement include breakfast - more food diversity and a balanced diet are needed. The beds in the rooms need to be fixed to avoid noise. Bathrooms need upgrading.Guest review byEddington ChinyokaZimbabwe
