Great new resort, comfortable large villas, delicious breakfast. Common spaces, bar area and pool are well maintained and clean. We used the gym and although not large it had everything we needed. SPA was great to for a massage. Staff was very professional and when we encountered an issue it was resolved very efficiently. Short walk to the beach through Jambiani village.

Fantastic accommodation right on the beach! Staff was absolutely amazing, super-kind and willing to assist at any moment and with any request! Bungalows are beautifully maintained, our beds were made every day with beautiful decoration, just like the photos on Booking show. Swimming pool kept clean and nice. Food in the restaurant was delicious and perfectly safe (fresh fruit and veg washed in filtered water). After receiving the confirmation that the bar also uses just bottled water, I think we tried all of the cocktails and genuinely enjoyed them! Our particular "thank you" goes to Precious, who helped us organize all the different tours around the island: snorkeling, scuba diving, Stone Town visit, a day at Kendwa and Nungwi beaches, turtle cave,.... always managing to find the unbeatable, best price! The sand on the beach right in front of the resort is probably the finest and whitest of all on Zanzibar! What we liked in particular is that the beach was also not too frequently visited by beach vendors, and they were definitely not allowed to enter the area around the swimming pool in resort. This really helped the tranquility under the sun!

We spent 9 magical nights at the place and it was amazing.african bungalows is more than a hotel ,it's a family place where the staff and the owners really take care of you.from the moment we booked we were kept in constant contact / communication with the owners about whether we required shuttle from and back to the airport which we accepted.they also advised about all the activities we could do.upon arrival we realized we were in heaven with the beautiful palm trees and stunning pool.we met the turkish owners who are brothers and Mai who checked us in easily.the hotel has its own restaurant and the food is divine.they also have nightly events and dinners. Really enjoyed the BBQ dinners.the rooms are big with fridge , showers , hair dryer for the ladies , daily shampoo and soaps.tea /coffee and drinking water is complimentary daily. We enjoyed the daily breakfasts as well.the place is literally a minute walk to the main nungwi beach and about 20 minutes walk to kendwa beach. There are many places to swim. It is very safe during the day and at night to walk about with many restaurants situated around it. Mai arranged one of the dolphin tours to mnemba Island which we enjoyed and came with us as well. The tumbatu Island is also close for snorkelling with boat.we also did the nakupenda , prison island and stone town tour. The nungwi turtle sanctuary is about a ten minute walk.we enjoyed swimming with the dolphins and turtles. This is a new hotel and it catered to our every needs. All the staff were friendly and we really enjoyed our stay here.we will definitely be back. We are missing the crystal clear turqoise waters now.also missing those 2 cute cats.

AVO Boutique Hotel was exactly what we were looking for. A laid back vibe and fantastic staff. Nothing fancy or pretentious but everything you need. Great food, great drinks, great value for your money. The owner personally takes care of you and anything you might need. Super communication. Great advice. Well located for what we wanted.

    We really enjoyed our stay in Kendwa and definitely we will be back. The staff is amazing, super polite, respectful, good information from the reception from the day we arrived. The sea is absolutely amazing tho a bit wavy but nothing special or for concern. We stayed on the Bungalows and it’s close to everything. The beach is full of beds and you have as well the service button which is amazing you can eat and enjoy the beach at the same time. There is 8 bars so you have plenty to chose and you always have some entertainment. Even if you have kids it’s the perfect place they never get bored. There is a lot of water sports and as well Sky diving that I recommend if you have the courage to do it. Right outside of the hotel you have a few restaurants and a small supermarket in case you need. Every month they have the Full Moon Party that is super cool and if you have the chance try because it is worth.

    Special thank you to Mr. Jabili at the desk and all the staff. We arrived around 9am, the staff welcomed us for a drink, we were able to have breakfast instead of the last day (breakfast was included in our room) which was highly appreciated after a long trip. We were able to check in early and the room was just beyond our imagination: it was perfect overlooking the ocean. It was perfect for the sunsets too. Additionally, the staff welcomed us also with a bottle of prosecco which tasted great. During the stay, staff were very nice. We also took a spa and at times it felt as there were 4 hands working on my back. She was good. Swimming pool, direct access to the beach was wonderful. It is not noisy, yet you have everything at walking distance.. Simply the best hotel on the beach in zanzibar.

    From the first moment we entered Zuri it was perfect. This hotel guarantees perfect relaxation and high quality service from A to Z. We were really charmed by the place. Whether it was the spacious and stylish rooms, the highly professional staff, the high class gastronomy to the point of I would say fine dining cuisine or the private beach right by the Indian Ocean or the swimming pool where one could perfectly relax at any time of the day. There is really nothing in Zuri that is not an experience. If one has the opportunity to come to this hotel one should definitely do it because you will not find a better hotel in Zanzibar, and I dare say not even far and wide.

    This is a fantastic place to stay at if you want to celebrate a anniversary. Fantastic Villas with a perfect beach you just can dream of, the best at Zanzibar, and it is real. Very kind, amazing and helpful personal, top service and fantastic good food. The Chefs and restaurants are world class and could easily have a Michelin star. You really feel that you are taking care of. They make sure you get the best relaxing stay and experience. Even the Manager is showing up and make sure you have the BEST stay. You just don’t want to leave… We will absolute come back.

    Just pick the right room. You get what you pay for. Some of the rooms have the best views in nungwi. Staff were excellent, always smiling and happy to help. Early check in and late checkout, I just asked nicely :) Nice big pool, which is always nice to chill and with speedy service from the the adjacent bar. The hotel is located on the best beach so the choice is yours. Excellent location.

    Perfect location, Pingwe is the place you want to be, local community on the beach, sandbank right next to the facility, boats that take you to the starfish in 5 minutes, great bathroom with a pleasant breeze, very good restaurant (I recommend beef, we had no luck with pasta), well managed by the owner

Restaurants on the beach tend to be a bit pricey, but if you take a short walk into the side streets, you’ll find places offering the same quality food at much more reasonable prices. What I didn’t like were the beach boys — they’re nice and friendly, but can be a bit annoying as they keep trying to sell things. They’re not too pushy, but it’s hard to relax when someone approaches you every couple of minutes. The only time you can truly enjoy some peace is early in the morning. Important note : you have to strongly negotiate the prices and people are very nice and easy going Try to learn few words from their language they will be super happy :)

    Zanzibar is an amazing destination with beautiful beaches, friendly people, and a rich culture. Stone Town is full of history and character, and the spice farms, sandbanks, and snorkeling trips make the experience unforgettable. The food is delicious, especially the seafood, and the atmosphere is so relaxing. I highly recommend visiting Zanzibar for anyone looking for a mix of adventure and relaxation.

    It was a great stay for me and my family.

    It was a great stay for me and my family. The best part of this hotel is the entire staff. Extremely friendly and courteous.Always smiling and greeting at every opportunity.A special thanks goes to Fadhila who made us and especially my daughter feel very special and welcome.The Manager was also very friendly and polite.Overall I would rate my stay as exceptional.

    If you have only stayed at Sheraton, Marriott, Ritz, King...

    If you have only stayed at Sheraton, Marriott, Ritz, King George or similar hotels - this is not your place. But if you are looking for clean beaches, clear sea, delicious food, peace, close contact with nature, friendly and courteous staff - this is it. There are many bars and small restaurants along the coast that offer a variety of food. In addition, in the town (of course African) you can buy products that are very fresh, and the people are friendly. Here you can buy handmade jewelry and souvenirs from the local population and the Masai.

    Matemwe was nice - the beach part.

    Matemwe was nice - the beach part. Sad to see the poverty behind the gates of the hotel. The tides were a bit different from what we have expected as the water would leave the beach at 9am and return around 5pm. If you did not make it to swim early in the morning, you missed it. We took a reef walk which was beautiful, saw a lot of see creatures, and that was very amazing experience. Also took a boat tour to see the sunset - it was worth the trip. Did not like how the locals would just stop on the beach and start shouting at you to buy smth. Also the part of the hotel beach is not segregated in any way, which does not give you a privacy enough. The food was amazing though - the hotel goes much beyond - and all day brekfast concept was amazing.

    The beach is arguably one of the best on the island—long, swimmable, and vibrant. While it has more energy and amenities than a secluded spot, we still found it peaceful and relaxing, especially during the mornings. It's the perfect base for anyone who wants both stunning beach life and easy access to restaurants and activities.

    The sea and beach with super soft and white sand are absolutely fabulous and relatively clean. I got bitten by sand fleas on my legs because I spend a lot of time in the sea and walked barefoot. There is a lot of informal trade on the beach by locals trying to sell something. Maybe even more so if you are a woman walking alone.

    Michamvi is good for relaxing and enjoying . There are few vendors and they are not disturbing you and friendly. We stayed 25 days at Kikoi Boutique Resort and arranged all excursions on Zanzibar as well as a Safari with Sir Alex at Kikoi for reasonable prices and with good service . Their Cook Mister Mahaveer Sing is a real Master Chef and we enjoyed every meal he prepared us . Compliments to all the people working there. You made our stay unfogettable.     This is not a touristy location... it is off the beaten...

    This is not a touristy location... it is off the beaten track... a village, by the sea, with an increasing number of resorts being added. I hope it does not lose its charm to the crowds. This is a quiet, special place.
