The people around Fairbanks were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed every U we driver and person we met along the way. Highly recommend a stay a Borealis Basecamp just north of the city. Go to the Alaska Sealife center, fabulous educated helpers available to tell you about the sealife and their adventure of how they came to the center. Olivia was very knowledgeable about the Puffins and other birds, excited to tell their stories and survival skills. Rays was a great place for lunch, a bit pricey but good.Guest review byHollyUnited States - 8.0

I was in Juneau for just 2 nights. I caught the Alaska state ferry from Juneau to Bellingham. I think the area has some great hiking trails when the weather is decent. I hiked the Perseverence Trail, which I liked very much.Guest review byCharlesUnited States - 10

We enjoyed exploring the Home Spit with all its shops to browse & nice places to dine. We would highly recommend the Harbor Grill Seafood & Steak Restaurant. Walking along the beach on the Spit with the fresh air & seeing the Seafarer's Memorial was very moving. We enjoyed the Alaska Islands & Ocean visitor center was very educational. The walking trail here were really nice to get out & enjoy nature. Our son lives in Homer, so we had our own tour guide. He took us all around town, to many different beaches, trail & his favorite fishing spots. We saw many eagles & lots of Mama moose with babies up near Anchor Point where our son lives. Our trip to Homer was wonderful & we can't wait to go back!Guest review byAnonymous - 10

Cute, funky little village with some good eateries, fun shops, and lots to do. I recommend the flightseeing with K2. We were lucky and had a clear view of Denali summit during a short window of clear skies. Also the jet boat river cruise was great. Very knowledgeable folks jetting us expertly up and down the rivers and telling us about history, culture, all things Alaska. The village is very walkable. Denali Brewpub and Mountain High Pizza were our favorite lunch/dinner spots. I'm really not a big pizza fan but the "star" appetizer was out of this world, and enough for two meals. Swiss Alaska Inn has a fantastic breakfast menu and the food was every bit as fantastic. High quality, prepared perfectly. The service was excellent. Worth the short walk outside the village.Guest review byKatherineUnited States - 8.0

Good place to refuel your car and recharge yourself after entering Alaska. Get some Thai food or anything at Fast Eddys. Both solid. Not much to do here but relax and get ready for your next move further into Alaska or as you leave Alaska.Guest review byJasonUnited States - 10
Soldotna is a wonderful town filled with friendly locals.
Soldotna is a wonderful town filled with friendly locals. The Kenai River is beautiful with the best salmon fishing! In the end of July there will be fish counts of 200,000 sockeye salmon per day coming upstream, so get your hook in the river and you are bound to catch your limit by lunchtime. So many coffee places and cool cafes like Lucy's Market in a quaint bookstore with incredible freshly baked bread and Italian-style press-grilled sandwiches!Guest review byAnitaUnited States - 10

Delta Junction is a historic site and the end of the famous Alcan/Alaska Highway. The drive down the Richardson Highway is breathtaking and made the trip worth it just for the view. Eating options are somewhat limited, but the food we found was very good.Guest review byTheTravelingDebJerrysUnited States - 10

Healy is very convenient if you have a car and are visiting Denali National Park and Preserve. There is a reasonably good grocery and liquor store. Denali Park is amazing, and I could not recommend it more if you like mountains. We were lucky enough to actually see the mountain.Guest review byGretchenUnited States
