The Historic Bullock Hotel is a must-stay location in Deadwood, offering guests a truly unique and high-quality stay. This is a very old building but in the best way - it has been sympathetically modernised and refurbished over the years to offer a leading stay in terms of comfort, cleanliness and intrigue due to its history. The staff from check in to departure ensured we had a perfect stay, and offered us a useful heads-up regarding the snow forecast that turned out to be a lifesaver! The lunch menu was just what we needed as well after a long day on the road. Between the staff and the location, you will not be disappointed!

The hotel really fits in with the special character of Deadwood. The room was spacious, excellent bathroom, good air-conditioning. As a lovely gesture we could keep the Mineral Palace Duck present in the bathroom.
Quiet, clean and comfortable beds
The view from the deck is amazing
Boston Pizza is only a few steps away from the hotel
I don't gamble but lots of machines for those that do and free alcohol if you are gambling

The location was just beautiful. The deck and patio is a great place to just relax. There was so much to see and do around the lodge as well as a very nice Hill City with lots of souvenir shops and restaurants.

Check in was a breeze even though I reached the hotel late. Hot tub was still available so I had a nice soak. I loved the decor of the place. The bed was really comfortable. The Receptionist was awesome.

We did a side trip to Devils Tower so that took much of one day. We
visited Spearfish Canyon on our way there. Didn't do any long hikes either. You can easily consume another day exploring there.
Stayed a total of 4 days and 3 days would have been comfortable.
It's definitely a destination not to miss. A lot of interesting history.

the rooms were clean, but a little small. staff was very nice. they were close to several national parks and monuments. it would have been nice to have one hot option for breakfast, but knew what we were getting when we booked room. would be nice if pillows were a bit thicker.

Hill City is a great western town in the Black Hills, with many amenities. However, I do regret that the main street reenactment of a shoot out has been canceled. It was great entertainment.
The HC Haven has many amenities, and was very comfortable for three couples. We utilized the dining table primarily and also enjoyed the hot tub. I couldn't figure out how to turn on the gas fireplace, which would have been nice and cozy.
We primarily used the home as a rest and regroup location, as there's so much to see in the area.

Spearwood Canyon is great first thing in the morning. The Fish Hatchery is a great place to wander in the late afternoon/early evening. Nice Beer Brewery in town. The Blackberry-Chilli ale is good.

This is a beautiful small town.
This is a beautiful small town. It has great old stone architecture and a beautiful riverwalk. It is in close proximity to many things to do, outdoors as well as indoors and there are some nice shops (I recommend the fair-trade store, Lucy and the Green Wolf). The town does roll up some after the summer tourist season.

Nice quite town after the rally, but a lot to do in the surrounding areas. Close to Deadwood and Spearfish Canyon. Plenty to do in the Black Hills. If you are on a motorcycle, you will not find a better place to ride. Roads are perfect and the Counties keep them well maintained. Custer State Park and Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse are well worth checking into! Fantastic weather most of the time.

There are many things to do in the area, much of them are closed in the winter, except for outdoor activities. We have been there many times throughout the year, summer is always hopping with something going on like Hot Harley Nights, the Corvette rally, Sturgis week, Mustang rally, off road 4x4s etc.
Winter time it is snow mobiling and skiing.
