Loved the September weather.
Loved the September weather. The views of the mountains were spectacular. Just short walk to the golf course and the beach. We stayed at Basecamp and loved it. Great food and entertainment! Just walked out if our room to enjoy live music. It was perfect. Parking can be a little tricky but we were in walking distance of everything. We were there for a wedding. This is a ghost town, there no people. the restaurants are empty and not very good. We only found a Thai restaurant The Basil it was very good and Vino's Pizza also very good. Stateline is undergoing a huge transformation.
Stateline is undergoing a huge transformation. Harveys is being re-branded with a ton of construction. Inside was seriously a shell of itself. Golden Nugget is also under construction and remodel. The whole area just felt run down. Not the Stateline we remembered from years past. We were attending a wedding at the North Tahoe Event Center, it's a beautiful facility, great location, supper attentive staff, parking fee $10.00. The beaches were crowded, after 5 it started to clear out. We enjoyed shopping in the area; a thrift shop, 2 antique stores and various other gift shops. Very scenic area with lots of water based and hiking activities. Lots of great places to eat with friendly staff. Guests visiting in the summer months should be aware of a daily resort tax which is not reflected in the booking.com price. Gardnerville is a quiet little city adjoining Minden, 16 miles from Carson City, and just down the very steep Kingsbury Grade from Stateline and South Lake Tahoe. Bus service is good to all of these places, and a vehicle makes them more accessible. We took a side trip to Virginia City and saw wild horses. Experience was not that great , my kids took swimming consumes but pool was not in service. They were so sad. In room there are not phone , you need to call the number from your phone .
