- From US$137.10 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,713 reviewsWe come here quite often from the Central Valley in California. I love how this hotel is so close by the ocean. You can walk to it. I really like the way the rooms doors all face the inside of the building so that you do not have doors slamming or lights in your window from cars pulling up. We always stay on the 2-3 floor and appreciate the complimentary breakfast. Simple but enough for us. We like how the rooms are spacious, Especially the King bed units. And the fact that they have a microwave and fridge is so helpful as we don’t eat out a lot. They’ve just completed a new breakfast room area and it is nice. The pool and especially the spa are bonuses. And I like how both are in a protected area. I love that it is so close to the Monarch Butterfly Reserve and we always see deer…always… between the hotel and the seaGuest review byClaireUnited States
- From US$258.18 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 361 reviewsWe liked the location of the property. Only about 3 blocks from the ocean (to the left) and a block away from the stores, shops, bakeries, etc, (to the right). Modern shower & bathroom. Bed comfortable. Pool area looked quaint, but too cold this time of year to enjoy (or for it to be open). Breakfast area in the morning had pastries, bagels, cereal, juice, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, coffee & hot tea.Guest review byMrs Melissa OUnited States

The rooms were beautiful and spacious, with an incredibly comfy bed. The continental breakfast was a nice touch, and the location was perfect — just outside the hustle and bustle with stunning views. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming.Guest review byEmilyAustralia

River, There was one of the biggest gathering places for native Tribes. You're in the most perfect place. Because you can go to the beach, you can go to The Valley. You could easily go down the coast. You easily make it into Monterey. And it's really a beautiful place to stay.Guest review byChrisUnited States

Close to the Cannery Row Inn with ample free packing space. The property is as advertised and easy to get to the Cannery Row but sits in quite a quiet area away from the bustling traffic.Guest review byZulkifliSingapore

I like that the room is big and clean, but they should have 2 trash cans in the room instead of 1. We stayed there for 3 nights. We didn’t ask for cleaning service the next day, but on the 2nd day we left in the morning came back in the room around 3 pm expecting that our room would be cleaned and ready, but we were disappointed that it hasn’t been cleaned yet. Good thing the cleaner was next door cleaning that room. We just asked for some fresh towels and to empty the trash can. They have reasonable price.Guest review byMichaelUnited States - 10.0

This is a beautiful upmarket town, unspoiled by high rise buildings and bad planning decisions. This was the third time we had visited and it has never disappointed. Quaint houses and shops, clean streets and wonderful beaches. Plenty of on street parking and friendly people. A must visit if you are in Northern California, as is the 17 mile, picturesque, drive between Carmel and Monterey.Guest review byAnthonyUnited Kingdom - 8.0

We enjoyed this location as it was easy to access Monterey and all the areas we wanted to visit. Rosine's in Monterey is Tops to us! Transiting the area was very easy. No bad traffic. Everything flowed well.Guest review byTirasmomUnited States - 10.0
Marina is a beautiful little town just north of Monterey.
Marina is a beautiful little town just north of Monterey. With CSUMB right there, there are a number of stores and restaurants typical of a college town. Monterey is just a short drive away but Marina is quiet without the hustle and crowds. Daddy's City Diner is a great place to start your day with a hearty breakfast! Stop by Baker's Bacon for some fresh, tasty bacon, sausage and cheese. Take some candied bacon with you for a wonderful snack.Guest review byJasonUnited States - 10.0
The Steinbeck Center is a must.
The Steinbeck Center is a must. I had breakfast at a local coffee shop on Main street, a few blocks away from the Steinbeck center. I can't remember the name, but the food was good and affordable. The staff was great. Seems like a draw for the locals.Guest review byMargaretUnited States - 8.0
Everything you need for a Roadside Hotel.
Everything you need for a Roadside Hotel. Outside and property was well maintained, clean and landscaped. Room was well appointed and for the most part really clean. I very much appreciate a laminate floor vs. carpet that you know is never clean. Had a a nice sized refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, ice machine. Area has grocery stores and restaurants in the area that you can walk to. (Just avoid the Mexican place across the street, unless you want some stomach upset! Trust me you'll thank me!) Again, was everything you needed and will book again for my Concours stay next year! Thank you!Guest review byKathrynUnited States - 10.0
Don't miss Big Sur! A truly beautiful spot.
Don't miss Big Sur! A truly beautiful spot. A highlight for us was the hike around Lobos Point where the wildlife is abundant and the scenery breathtaking. Eating out was pricey but we stayed at Big Sur campground and cabins where we able to cater for ourselves. During April the roads were reasonably quiet, making the drive along the coast super easy.Guest review byOliverUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Friendly , helpful staff.
Friendly , helpful staff. Exceptionally clean rooms...floors had been wet mopped ( a pet pieve of mine) and all was well maintained. The housekeeping service even stopped to ask if everything was ok.Guest review bySusanUnited States - 10.0
Carmel Valley is a little gem.
Carmel Valley is a little gem. Most people visiting Northern CA only get as far as Napa or Santa Cruz but they're really missing out. The wineries and restaurants in Carmel Valley rival Napa. Point Lobos on the way to Big Sur is a spectacular park hugging the cliffs. Nepenthe in Big Sur is not only historic but has a fantastic view of the coast. And of course there is Esalen in Big Sur. Make the effort and visit.Guest review byKathrynUnited States - 10.0

The town felt both quaintly and historically antiquated, yet superbly modern. For example, the aquarium seemed both historic while also avant guarde in ecological and environmental studies. Bravo to one and to all, I hereby resolve.Guest review bySeanUnited States
