There is a lot to see in Las Vegas. Not only will you find the strip fun and exciting, the hotels provide any type of entertainment You can find many free things to do as well. Just exploring all the different hotels is a must do. We also went off the strip and explored the National Parks and the Hoover Dam, among other beautiful places. This is not the Laughlin of prior visits. I haven't been there since COVID hit and apparently it did a number on this town. A couple of the hotels have shut down. There was no one playing on the river. Our view of Mesquite is entirely based at Casa Blanca. We actually leave our home in North Las Vegas to come here for a getaway and to use the spa. We came for the Star Train and were not disappointed by the trip. Definitely check out the Nevada Northern Railway when in Ely. They offer a number of different train rides, and the self-guided walking tour is also worthwhile. The Star Train is especially lovely, taking passengers out to the desert at night to a star viewing area, with telescopes and accompanied by professional astronomers. We were in the area for the Ron Fellows Driving School but we did try to explore the area while we were there.
