Richmond was very cool , we stayed in Richmond but tracked to Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown . It was a hour back and forth which was a bit much , would stay a bit closer next time . However , in Richmond we discovered a super cool cemetery called “ Hollywood cemetery “. For a 1$ you can buy a map and find all kinds of cool graves I clding confederate soldiers and leaders ! The Mall was great!
The Mall was great! I love how it's closed off to car traffic and you can just stroll in comfort. Many, many shops of many, many different tastes. Great variety. Very active nightlife (well, it IS a college town!). Traffic is very congested, so just be mindful of that. I appreciate the history and options of places to go and things to do. We aren't city people, so the amount of construction and people was a bit overwhelming for us. Some of the major roadways were HUGE and traffic ran fast and the locals were kind of unforgiving if you didn't know which lane to be in. Lots of flooding during heavy rains as it is only like 4 feet above sea level. We were in town to see the USS Wisconsin, as my father served on her in the 50s. The ship was amazing and quite a sight to behold. Aside from that, we didn't really bother with the rest of the city.Guest review byTracy - 6.0
