Nice hotel with super nice host

I can't recommend Ba Be Jungle Houses enough (previously Mr Linh's). We booked only the day before. The team organised all of our travel for us - we got the 12:30pm "bus" from Hanoi to Ba Be Boat House. The bus was more of a luxury van - it was very comfortable and air conditioned. Arriving is serene and beautiful - very different from the crazy bustle of Hanoi. From there we were collected by their "boat man" who took us, by boat, to the homestay. Crossing the lake as the sun was setting was a special way to arrive! We'd initially booked a deluxe double however when we arrived I discovered that one of the king rooms were available and we upgraded. I am so glad we did. Waking up to views over the mountains was incredible. They'd asked us in advance what we'd like for dinner - there were 4 menus to choose from. The food was absolutely delicious - it tasted like home-cooking. The whole team made sure you were comfortable and having a good time. It was by far the best service we had in Vietnam. My partner went on the trek with one of the homestay's guides which he enjoyed a lot. I was supposed to attend, however I injured my elbow which made hiking difficult. I joined for the first part through the paddies and turned back when you needed to scramble up hill a little. We also went on a boat trip to an amazing bat cave. I would recommend that, too! We were only supposed to stay for two nights but we extended to 4. And we didn't want to leave. The team really, really looked after me - bringing ice for my injury and even driving me to the doctor's and pharmacist to help with translation to get medication. Special thanks to Nam for this. Ba Be itself is a hidden gem and not to be missed. People we met while travelling reported places like Sapa to be crowded with tourists. Ba Be is the opposite. It is totally untouched and untrodden.

The place has just been renovated. Everything is clean, the beds are very comfortable. The staff is very professional and helpful. I recommend this place.

The location is very beautiful, with a wonderful point of view on the lake and the rice fields. But what we enjoyed most was the kindness and gentleness of Noa, and her family . Even 10 days after our stay, we still have this positive way of life in mind. Thank you Noa!

The location and price was great

The room was big and clean and water pressure and heating was perfect. Also, the owner cooks very good food!

The property was not in the location on the booking.com or Google map, the number I called wasn’t answered, they did message back but the coordinates they gave were wrong. I stayed somewhere else

My stay at Duy Tuyen Ba Be Homestay was absolutely unforgettable. The staff were incredible, with Duy and Hieu standing out as two of the kindest and most caring people I’ve met. They went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, making me feel right at home. Hieu's cooking is a highlight in itself—every meal was delicious and full of authentic flavors. I highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Ba Be. The hospitality, warmth, and amazing food create an experience you won’t want to miss!
