Situated just a short walk from the center, it’s incredibly convenient for exploring the island. Everything—from the harbor to restaurants and shops—is easily accessible, yet the hotel still offers a peaceful and relaxing environment. The views from the hotel are stunning, especially at sunrise and sunset. Waking up to the sight of the harbor was one of the highlights of my stay. I think this is the only 10 accommodation we had during our Vietnam trip. This hotel meets the western expectations of cleanness and facilities. The room was really big, with two queen beds (so you can sleep together or separate), smart TV, clean bathroom and we got welcome drinks delivered to our room. The breakfast is big and delicious and (if you want) they have capuccino.

Amazing! The host was so sweet, he invited us to the terrace on the top of the hotel to have dinner with his family and friend (dinner was DELICIOUS and the vibe was super fun), he also took care of everything for us - motorbike, transportation, storage of bags during the boat cruise - the room is big and clean, the bed is very comfortable (one of the most comfortable we had in Vietnam for 2 weeks), the location is great, in brief, there's everything you need and I recommend this place greatly!

Cat Ba Dream Hotel overlooks the waterfront esplanade and the bay of Cat Ba, it is quite majestic. The room is large enough with a big window to capture that majestic view. Bed is large and comfortable for a good deep sleep. I had originally booked a "high floor" but that did not guarantee us a view, so I had to upgrade to get the view, well worth the few extra $s. Booked a cruise and a cheap motor bike and the forward bus journey to Ninh Binh. All good experiences at Cat Ba Dream Hotel.

The staff is amazing. From the first moment I felt so welcomed. If I had any questions they would know the answers or help me to the right tools. The hostel itself is very modern (it just openend) and clean. The beds are good and the toilets and shower are nice (and seperated from eachother). In the evening they have a happy hour when you get free beer at the pool bar. We had lots of fun! I only booked one night but that quickly became two because I had a great time ☺️

The staff was well organised and helpfull. I wanted to start the tour I booked with them on the day I was checking in (early in the morning, before the given time). There was no problem, they allowed an earlier check-in so that I could also refresh myself. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and well equiped. As an add on bonus, a place where they serve breakfast is really nice

Enjoyed Cat Ba, but don’t go on others reviews for accomodation, check out places fully, we changed places twice and would have changed again but decided to stick it out, do not accept a bad room, ask for one which you believe you have paid for and as it was described when you booked it. Don’t book for a weekend or public holiday, the Vietnamese flood the town. We found best value places to eat and drink, cheapest and great food Oasis restaurant, The big man for good western food.

Great place for tours/excursions such as the cruises that take place often, or a day trip organised to other areas. Had some lovely restaurants and coffee spots too. However, currently lots of construction taking place in the town so if you had time, I'd say it's worth it for the visit but wouldn't be missing out on loads currently if you planned to go but with no intention of doing the cruises or a tour.

Did not want to do the hiking in Cat Ba national park,...

Did not want to do the hiking in Cat Ba national park, however we hired a scooter and this is a great way of seeing a place. Loved taking the cable car to Hai Phong (when travelling back to Hanoi) instead of the ferry. This is is run by Sun World which also runs the cable car in Ha Long.
