Situated just a short walk from the center, it’s incredibly convenient for exploring the island. Everything—from the harbor to restaurants and shops—is easily accessible, yet the hotel still offers a peaceful and relaxing environment. The views from the hotel are stunning, especially at sunrise and sunset. Waking up to the sight of the harbor was one of the highlights of my stay. It’s the perfect spot for travelers who want to enjoy both convenience and scenic beauty. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed, pillows and blankets were comfy. The room was quiet, no street or hallway noise. The hotel breakfast was yummy. There’s also a nice restaurant just across the street with a great menu.

This was the most beautiful hotel we stayed at in Vietnam – everything is beautifully designed with a charming seaside style. The reception staff are wonderful: very kind, speak excellent English, and are always happy to help. Breakfast was delicious, with freshly squeezed juice and plenty of options. The hotel is right in the center, yet the rooms are quiet and peaceful. A lovely place with a warm atmosphere – we truly enjoyed our stay.

I had a very comfortable stay although my bed was hard. The room was very spacious and nice with a balcony. I had my dinner at the hotel's restaurant. I ordered oysters and pad Thai, not knowing that the portions were huge! I couldn't eat all. That was a real bonus with very reasonable price. Thank you.

Amazing! The host was so sweet, he invited us to the terrace on the top of the hotel to have dinner with his family and friend (dinner was DELICIOUS and the vibe was super fun), he also took care of everything for us - motorbike, transportation, storage of bags during the boat cruise - the room is big and clean, the bed is very comfortable (one of the most comfortable we had in Vietnam for 2 weeks), the location is great, in brief, there's everything you need and I recommend this place greatly!

Cat Ba Dream Hotel overlooks the waterfront esplanade and the bay of Cat Ba, it is quite majestic. The room is large enough with a big window to capture that majestic view. Bed is large and comfortable for a good deep sleep. I had originally booked a "high floor" but that did not guarantee us a view, so I had to upgrade to get the view, well worth the few extra $s. Booked a cruise and a cheap motor bike and the forward bus journey to Ninh Binh. All good experiences at Cat Ba Dream Hotel.

The staff is amazing. From the first moment I felt so welcomed. If I had any questions they would know the answers or help me to the right tools. The hostel itself is very modern (it just openend) and clean. The beds are good and the toilets and shower are nice (and seperated from eachother). In the evening they have a happy hour when you get free beer at the pool bar. We had lots of fun! I only booked one night but that quickly became two because I had a great time ☺️

Just a little stroll out of the main strip overlooking a gorgeous view of the mountains, we had a private room that was very spacious and comfy. Not an overly party hostel like banana tree but still quite social with lots of things to do and food just as good as anywhere else in the area!

This has become our regular hotel for visits to Cat Ba. From the friendly staff to the fabulous facilities, it scores a 10 every visit. The pools, onsen, and gym are great additions. The breakfasts are varied and always tasty. The restaurant has a mix of Asian and Western food.

The best part was the view – the balcony offered amazing views of the bay, which was so relaxing. The room was clean and comfortable, with nice, cozy beds that made it easy to relax after a long day of exploring. I had a pleasant experience and would definitely recommend it!

Enjoyed Cat Ba, but don’t go on others reviews for...

Enjoyed Cat Ba, but don’t go on others reviews for accomodation, check out places fully, we changed places twice and would have changed again but decided to stick it out, do not accept a bad room, ask for one which you believe you have paid for and as it was described when you booked it. Don’t book for a weekend or public holiday, the Vietnamese flood the town. We found best value places to eat and drink, cheapest and great food Oasis restaurant, The big man for good western food.

Great place for tours/excursions such as the cruises that take place often, or a day trip organised to other areas. Had some lovely restaurants and coffee spots too. However, currently lots of construction taking place in the town so if you had time, I'd say it's worth it for the visit but wouldn't be missing out on loads currently if you planned to go but with no intention of doing the cruises or a tour.

Did not want to do the hiking in Cat Ba national park, however we hired a scooter and this is a great way of seeing a place. Loved taking the cable car to Hai Phong (when travelling back to Hanoi) instead of the ferry. This is is run by Sun World which also runs the cable car in Ha Long.
