I arrived at the hotel early in the morning, around 8 AM, and was immediately welcomed with warmth and kindness. Julie, one of the staff members, noticed that I was freezing and generously lent me her hand heater—such a thoughtful gesture that made all the difference in the chilly Sapa weather. The hotel also provided a shower room, allowing me to freshen up before check-in, which was incredibly convenient after a long journey. On top of that, they offered a **complimentary herbal bath and sauna**, which was the perfect way to relax and warm up after exploring Sapa. It was a unique and rejuvenating experience that added so much value to my stay. Throughout my time at the hotel, the staff consistently went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable, frequently checking in to see how I was doing. Julie, in particular, was incredibly hospitable **from the moment I arrived until my last day**, making sure I had everything I needed for a smooth and enjoyable stay. Her kindness and attentiveness truly made a difference. As a solo traveler, feeling safe and well taken care of is essential, and Bamboo Sapa Hotel delivered on all fronts. Not only did she provide great help and advice on where to travel around for sight see, she even pay meticulous attention to pre-emp our needs, like preparing the Hotel buggy for my family of six to pick us up from the hotel Swimming pool complex to return to hotel main lobby, so that we can be on time for our transport back to Railway Station. Very difficult to find your way there, all homestay/hotel owners refuse to provide information and collaborate only with specific companies. English guides limited but a guide named Thao made our stay a nightmare. She was trying to push lunch and other side services, once she realized we didn’t want that, she stopped any guiding and intentionally destroyed half of one day and the whole second day by acting simply as a side person on the trip, not providing absolutely anything. Mountainous area famous for plum. It's called the white valley because during the spring the whole area is covered by plum flowers. So it's best to visit in early January. Otherwise, summer is a good time for plum picking. I had an enjoyable experience picking plum myself and brought lots of them home. I was lucky to visit during the weekends when they had annual horse racing competition. Really memorable. They also have weekly Hmong flea market on Sunday, you can eat local food and see ethnic people trading. Riding motorbike and looking at the mountain was fairly enough for me. I only stayed Saturday night for the Sunday market but wish I’d stayed Friday night too to see the buffalo market on Saturday morning. Get up early (~6am) and go to the market while it’s bustling with locals rather than waiting until the tourist buses arrive (from ~9am).
