- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.6Good - What previous guests thought, 18 reviewsRalf and his wife have this absolute gem of a hotel in Newcastle. We stayed in one of the rooms as a group of 3. The rooms are large and comfortable, and they provided us with hot water and ice cubes for drinks as a welcome. The highlight of the hotel is the extremely lovely garden and a cute interior in the dining room, where we received a very nice breakfast. The staff is super friendly, and gave us great recommendations about where to get groceries or dinner. Thanks for the great stay!Guest review byFrederickGermany
- From US$1,887.91 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 6 reviewsIn a perfect location, the amazing view overlooking the vast valley from the deck is all to yourself, where they set up the dinner for us. Each one of the meals were all very satisfying , just the right taste And not to mention, the superb Safari experience guided by experienced team, who knows it all. We saw a big herd elephants, cheetah hunting, brother lions eating their prey! This indeed luxury lodge of exquisite taste is yet cozy with very hearty hospitality.Guest review bykanakoJapan
- From US$40.29 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 104 reviewsOur initial booking was at Patterson B&B but we wanted a self catering unit, Mr Mohomed was kind enough to move us to a self catering unit at 32 Beardall. Our room was clean and well prepared. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our own meals. We also had wifi, a smart tv and an aircon. The place is very well secured with enough space for car parking. We really enjoyed our stay.Guest review byDumisaniSouth Africa
- From US$46.05 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 623 reviewsThe view was phenomenal. The staff go above and beyond what is expected from them. Service with a smile and can hold a conversation with kids for hours on end which was super sweet to watch as they explained things as my kids asked away. My dog had so much space to run around! I highly recommend Pyramids Motel as the perfect rest stop or peaceful getaway spot.Guest review byde AveiroSouth Africa

I understand that Ladysmith is an old town ,but ,I was very disturbed when I saw shacks right in town ,there are other areas in CBD, that were dirty ,in Small towns like Ladysmith ,we are expecting orderly and clean places especially in CBD. Municipality must enforce the by laws. We like to visit small towns .Guest review byLouvie - 6.0

there was very little that impressed me and certainly not value for money. roads to the resort are terrible with many potholes . weekend buffet was really good but a la carte for the rest of the week is mediocre with some items not available. the complete resort needs a revamp . no effort is made to entertain guests hot pools were really good but there should have been refreshments available nearby ( 300m ) to get a cooldrink.Guest review byMarioSouth Africa - 10.0

The location of Van Reenen is a) convenient and b) a beautiful part of the world. The scenery is fantastic. The town itself could do with a good lick of paint and a rich and enthusiastic developer of historic buildings. There are a couple of very pretty house which are well looked after. Across the road from the petrol station is "The littlest Church" where we stop for breakfast. Fabulous - both the church, view and breakfast.Guest review bymariaSouth Africa - 8.0

The city is a great stopover on the way to the Drakensberg Mountains (Giants Castle or Champagne Valley) plus it is only a short drive to the Wagendrift Nature reserve and Moor Park. Good town to stock up on supplies before heading to the mountains.Guest review byJeremy PNew Zealand - 6.0

We enjoyed the company of our tour guides who took us to Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift and explained the battles that took place. Mphiwa Ntanzi and Douglas Rattray were so informative that it felt as if you were reliving what had transpired so many decades ago. Breakfast, Lunch, Tea and Dinner were at Fugitive's Drift. So much food, that a person was putting on weight :) A standard vehicle can get you around Rorke's Drift, but it would be better if a person had a 4x4.Guest review byAngelaSouth Africa - 6.0

I Lived there for 18 years and had wonderfull childhood memories, but now the roads are very bad and basically offer you only 1 option to travel there and that is via Standerton, ant mostly with a SUV due to the amount of potholes on the road, that is not getting fixed.... Wonderfull town for any historian!!!Guest review byPieter HerbstSouth Africa - 10.0
