It is located directly at the ocean - you can not get a better location in the Wilderness. Rooms have fantastic ocean views, and the hotel has direct beach access. The beach is wide and beautiful. The rooms are very spacious & quiet; the bed is comfortable. The Internet works perfectly (even during load shedding). The owner and the staff are very nice, helpful and full of advice. The Wilderness is a lovely town with an excellent choice of restaurants (Ilali was our favorite). It's a 3-minute drive from the Dune Beach House (or 25 min walk). It sucks!! We had to call them to open the gate for us while they didn’t even send us any messages how to enter! What we saw on the booking@ picture is not what we got! It was just a tiny room! Loved the view and i enjoyed climbing the stairs to our room. The room was cozy, bed very comfortable - had all we needed. All shops, restaurants and beach in walking distance, loved our beach strolls. The artist was busy with the most beautiful paintings within the subway leading to the beach. The breakfast at the place was delicious so we enjoyed dinner at The Blue Olive the Friday night and Ilali the Saturday night. place was stunning, however when i booked was noted we had to vacate the place between 8-12am, we had cleaning staff demanding we leave at 9.30 so they can clean as new tenants arrive at 2.. we were intending to leave at 10, they could not wait and insisted to invade our space. very unnecessary as the cabin was kept as we found it. i think the maids must understand we are the paying customer not them. bit of a spoiler. the host michelle was very attentive and gracious. thank you michelle for the response on the call out too😉 to brian and verner can see you have a close family and have had wonderful times have memories... luv that.Guest review byelizabeth annSouth Africa - 10.0

Recommended for those travellers to do a quality stop over or spend some quality time together for a couple of days. Beautiful view of the sea and the sunset is amazing. A small village on the east coast between George and Knysna. People are friendly and services adequate for basic needs. Plenty of restaurants catering for a variety of cuisines some of them highly recommended. The accommodation was awesome, the reception super friendly and informative. The view was unequaled. It was a most memorable stay. The meals at Dutton's Cove were amazing. So glad that we chose Herold's Bay as a destination and Ozone Apartments as our host. The hike to the cross and the view from there was breathtaking. We were even blessed to see well over 300 dolphins in 2 consecutive days and 2 whales. Will definitely re-visit.Guest review byBrown
