The location is stunning. It offers really great views of the wildlife visiting the Crocodile River right from the breakfast veranda and even from the swimming pool. The rooms are very spacious and clean, with comfy beds and again offering some wonderful views of the surrounding nature. A special thanks to both Sindite and Noxolo for looking after us really well during our stay. Despite a period of 'load shedding' (power cuts) they managed to serve up a very tasty evening meal for us and then a wonderful breakfast in the morning. We only stayed one night this time before doing a 'self drive' in the Kruger. However, next time we will definitely stay for at least a few nights and drive into the Kruger from there.

Lovely well laid out and well equipped property. Really relaxing feel about the whole place. Views at the end of the driveway overlooking the Crocodile river into the KNP. Lovely attentive staff and interaction with Michelle the owner always good and on hand. Very highly recommended to all that love the true African way of life. Also on the plus side the property is only 15 mins from Crocodile Bridge the entrance to the Kruger Park.

Our stay at Ungava Retreat was incredible. Travelling from Australia, we were completely blown away by the design of the place—it was even better than the photos suggested and made for the perfect romantic getaway. Amazing location with great facilities - the photos do not do it justice. The host was incredibly attentive and available to assist with any of our queries. The aircon in our room had some issues and he kindly moved us into another room. The pool outside with the animals roaming around is lovely and the breakfast was excellent. We will definitely be visiting again.

A little slice of bush heaven tucked near the Kruger Park. The staff and volunteers were extremely kind and attentive and quickly make you feel part of the hostel community. Within a few hours of arriving we had visitors by the pool (zebras!). The hostel was extremely clean and well decorated. The pool was clean and great for when you need to cool down. There were different spaces to mingle with others or have some quiet time/do work if you wish. The tours were awesome - despite it being a scorcher of a day we saw a plethora of wildlife! The hostel doesn’t host too many guests, which creates an intimate feel and makes it easier to get to know everyone. By the end of the trip, you will feel like part of the hostel family. I hope to visit again and will recommend to friends! 🌻
