A comfy eclectic hideaway near to the sea. Everything you could need was available in the home. A washing machine was very appreciated. Good line out the back The cooker was very useful in the cold spell. The lighting was bright and plentiful & used eco bulbs. Better than in most rentals!! Load shedding did not occur here which was a relief! However, that would not have been problematical as there was a gas heater with 3 levels. We were toasty & comfortable. The bathroom was well equipped. The kitchen had every tool you could possibly need! Plenty of china glasses and cutlery. Good wifi.

The chalets were spotlessly clean, well equipped and very convenient after a long drive from Cape Town. The little touches of ground coffee with a plunger and Darling toffees were much appreciated and the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. Would stay there again, great value for money.

A hidden gem literally in the middle of nowhere, the room is spacious and really well equipped, we loved the private barbecue right in front of our bungalow, it made our Christmas Eve night special! I can’t describe how ecstatic I was under such a sky full of incredibly numerous and bright stars! The owners welcomed us warmly and were absolutely kind and available for anything. Thank you for this amazing experience 🙏🏼

As per usual, we had a lovely stay, a great location, did some fishing from the small island , and the pool is awesome. Out of all the places alongside the Orange River - Orange river rafting lodge is def the best for us. Staff is always so friendly. See you soon

Kamieskroon is a very small town.

Kamieskroon is a very small town. You can walk through the town. They do have a small shop for necessities and fresh bread and cooldrinks. They have a butchery and a liquor store. We had breakfast and dinner at Harry's Guesthouse where we enjoyed our stay for 3 nights. We droved through the Skilpad reserve nearby and we had lunch at Murasie. I do recommend their roosterkoek. We took a daytrip to Springbok using the N7 and there we went to the Goegap nature reserve. You can do daytrips to nearby smaller towns from Kamieskroon, but I do recommend a 4x4 vehicle due to the condition of the gravel road.

Peace and quiet with excellent view over Orange river.

Peace and quiet with excellent view over Orange river. Remember no shops around but no need for a lot of extras. Breakfast and Dinner supplied. It was interesting to "walk" up the mountain behind the lodge for view over Namibia and South Africa. San pictoglyphs and rock formations amazing. It is easy to reach with signage where needed. I whiled away some time on the verandah with jigsaw puzzle and laptop. Relief that they have solar power and bottled water as well as some tipple when asked for. Showers have heat pumps for immediate hot water in ample shower room.

From the photos we were expecting a beautiful spacious and well maintained place. We were disappointed with the chalet, it was outdated, dark and cold. Would really recommend to pay a visit to Gougap (small park, half a day is enough if you don't have a 4x4). We didn't find anything else of interest in the area.

The quietness, long beach to stroll along, safe beach for children to play. Loved the dolphins playing. People are very friendly. The only bit of negativity is the local Spar prices on non- luxurious items.

There are two things to do here.

There are two things to do here. The first is to make use of the Orange River by rafting or paddling on it, or fishing in it, and the second is to to visit the Nababeep Park. Looking down the page, I see there is also Aussenkehr Nature Reserve and Richtersveld Conservancy. We were not aware of these other parks. So perhaps the second thing should be to visit parks. The neighbouring town did not appear to have any attractions. It's main function is to house the border officials who work at passport control and customs between South Africa and Namibia.

We always stay at Felix Unite but they couldn’t accommodate us. But we found a little Gem called Amanzi River Camp ( Amanzi Trails) managed by husband and wife team Jacqui and Leon. Upon first meeting - they felt like family. Very accommodating in meeting our requirements to experience canoeing along the Orange River. Noordoewer is just a border town but an Oasis in Southern Namibia. With KMs of Vineyards. I think it’s the start of the C13 and a must for visitors to experience the beautiful landscapes along the river up to Rosh Pinah.
