Very good location, close to the city center and right next to a bus stop. Quiet area with a view of the canal. The rooms are very clean and well kept. Sam and Valérie, the hosts, are cheerful and kind, and they do everything possible to make your stay as pleasant as it can be.

The B&B is on a quiet residential street on a canal. It is beautifully and tastefully decorated blending the features of the older house from the 1930’s with modern touches. The breakfast is served overlooking a lovely garden complete with their two cats, Molly and Elvis. We stayed 3 nights in the large room overlooking the canal which was spacious with a comfortable queen size bed, mini-fridge, and coffeemaker. Best of all were the hosts, Sam and Valerie, who were wonderful, personable, and helpful with info about Bruges. We feel we have made new friends! We highly recommend staying at B&B Contrast if you visit Bruges and we hope to be back someday!

Nothing it was perfect

Location was perfect, very central but away from the crowds. The main square was an easy 10 minute walk. The accommodation was just perfect, in a stunning building. Our hosts were so welcoming and attentive, and available if we needed anything. Our room overlooked the canal and city, it was a beautiful view to wake up to every morning . Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of choice, fresh breads, pastries, fruit, eggs, yoghurts etc. They have two gorgeous cats too. We had such a wonderful time and cannot wait to come back, it was so relaxing.

Very nice room just next to shopping and pubs. We took local bus from the train station and it took about 10 min. Easy to walk to busier streets for beer and food/shopping. Fantastic breakfast and service, if we go to Bruges again we will likely try and stay here.

There was genuinely nothing we would change about our stay. From the thoughtful hosts to the beautiful setting, comfortable room, and delicious breakfast, everything was absolutely perfect.

We stayed at B&B Contrast for three nights, and from start to finish, it was a wonderful experience. Sam and Valerie welcomed us into their beautiful home with genuine warmth and hospitality that made our visit to Bruges all the more special. Valerie greeted us personally upon arrival and showed us around. The whole check-in process was smooth and friendly—we immediately felt at home. A badge was provided for easy access, meaning we could come and go as we pleased. The location of the B&B couldn’t be better—nestled right along the canal, our room had a glorious view. It’s perfectly situated: close enough to walk into the city centre, but just far enough from the busier tourist areas to enjoy some calm and quiet. Our room was spotless—clean, bright, and fresh—and the perfect size for two people. The facilities were excellent: a powerful, spacious shower, comfortable bed, wardrobe space, a fridge and tea/coffee-making amenities. The breakfast was a highlight. Served in a stunning breakfast room overlooking their beautiful garden, we even had the chance to eat outside one morning. The spread was delicious and generous, with plenty of options including cheeses, meats, eggs, fresh pastries, cereals, fruit, and more. It was the perfect start to each day. What really set our stay apart, though, was the chance to chat with both Valerie and Sam, who took a genuine interest in our plans and offered excellent recommendations for restaurants, walks, and places to visit that we might otherwise have missed. On our final day, they kindly allowed us to leave our luggage after check-out so we could enjoy our last few hours in the city. We can’t recommend B&B Contrast highly enough. If you're visiting Bruges and are looking for somewhere truly special, this is the place to stay.

A little more cupboard storage/shelving for clothes and small items would be useful but this is just being super critical!

We had a wonderful stay at the stunning, design-led, modern-traditional Hotel Contrast. An exceptional location just 10 minutes from the bustling centre of Bruges and extremely quiet. Super friendly hosts made us feel so welcome and special and we were given a very comfortable, beautiful, newly renovated, en-suite garden room with its own patio table and chairs. The most amazing breakfast - much more than we could eat with delicious freshly-baked croissants and eggs as-you-liked. We loved the garden aspect with two happy cats enjoying the space and would be happy to return.

Absolutely nothing, however it should be noted that there’s no lift as it’s a beautifully kept period property which wasn’t a problem for us but could be for others with mobility issues!

We couldn’t have had a better stay in this beautiful city; the entire property had such character, our room was modern, comfortable and spotless and the location was perfect being just out of the centre enough that the crowds didn’t follow us back!

B&B Contrast is a gem! Sam & Valerie were wonderful hosts, providing advice on sights, restaurants and events. Check in was easy and without hassle. Breakfast was excellent (Sam makes fantastic eggs). The property is very well located, about 10 minutes' walk to the Belfry. Parking is available (at a surcharge) if you are travelling by car. The rooms are well appointed and very clean. We will definitely be back!
