The waterpump on the back of the house sounded awfully much at times and a nearby restaurant played music until late every night.

Beautiful location and view! Nice rooms and balconies. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast and we truly enjoyed the afternoon coffee with delicious cakes.

Super friendly and helpful people. They sorted out my transfers to the island and back and were full of information on where to go/eat etc. Nothing was too much trouble. An excellent place to stay.

We highly recommend the Pousada Tagomago hotel. The room was simple, clean and functional. We also really appreciated the breakfast which was very complete. We were two girls and we felt very safe. And special mention to Manu who, in addition to welcoming you very well, took care of the transfers before our arrival and after our departure as well as our activities during the stay. It was great to have such smooth communication and to feel confident. Thank you!

The only thing is I felt the pillows and bedding were a little bit damp all the time and had a little smell.

The property was very cute and a good location to access most of the amenities in Abraao. The staff, Manu especially, was excellent. He helped us organising tours and gave us great recommendations. The breakfast was also very nice.

We couldn’t find the switch to the main light in our room, turns out there was a button on a remote control that we hadn’t seen so the first night unfortunately we had to try and sleep with the light on!

You enter via the beach up a set of stone stairs, with the most incredible view from the Pousada. Manu made our stay so wonderful, helping us book our transfers before we even arrived, and then recommending and booking us a tour whilst we were there. We don’t speak Portuguese so this was really helpful for us, he also recommended us bars and restaurants. The breakfast was lovely with fresh bread, fruit, cereals, cakes, eggs, and avocado. We also enjoyed the homemade cakes in the afternoon, perfect after a day out! Couldn’t recommend this place enough!

It was a little noisy in the rooms at night.

On the beach and had a relaxed feel to it. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were very kind and gave us great recommendations of where to go for the day. They also looked after our bags as we had a late ferry back to the mainland.

The owners also live on the proximity, they made more noise which doesn’t benefit the general atmosphere. Also the hostel on the makes some noise. The shower head could also be improved.

The staff, especially Manu was amazing and the breakfast is also great. Manu gave us so many great recommendation for what to do on the island. The view from the balcony is incredible! The bed is nice and the location feels very island like.

The power generator could've been on more in the day when it was off (but it was not a major issue, and it was still used), no other complaints, I highly recommend this hotel

The views are beautiful but in order to get those views, you have to be up high. We were warned in advance, but the steps can be challenging for older travelers or those who have pain/issues with balance. We were ok and loved our stay, but definitely keep this in mind if you have any walking challenges in your group.

Beautiful location with amazing views of the water! The breakfast was very fresh and tasty, and the staff was kind. We loved the balcony to relax and watch the views! It was also very quiet. The power went out in the area the first night, but they had a generator and were happy to accommodate leaving it on all night to power my dad's CPAP. We really appreciated that! Because of this, the power loss (which was not their fault to begin with) didn't impact us at all.

Hard to find something negative. Only people with mobility issues might have a hard time getting here since the island doesn't have motorized vehicle and it's a walk and a small climb up to the location.

This place was a little paradise. Gorgeous breakfast, great staff, clean rooms (that came with mosquito nets), and a friendly cat for those who like animals!

Nothing at all. The stay was perfect, many thanks to everyone who helped to make our stay so special.

The pousada is a gorgeous little haven of 6 rooms set above the beach near the main port. The staff are all super friendly with Manu providing many recommendations even before our arrival and helping to arrange our boat transfer to the island and a taxi back to Rio. It was lovely to have breakfast each morning and discuss the days activities and I would say this interaction really helped us to explore and enjoy the island. Breakfast was plentiful and there was even cake in the afternoon. The room was clean and tidy and serviced each day. We had a fan and air conditioning which was perfect to keep the room cool. I would say it was a little on the small side for a family of 4 but to be honest with the amount of activity the island had to offer we were in the room very little. It was peaceful and quiet with no speakers allowed and this was a nice touch to ensure all guests are not disturbed. It was good to stay on the main abraao beach but far enough removed back to not be bothered by any noise. We were easily able to walk to the main port and take a taxi to other beaches. I would highly recommend staying here if you are visiting the island.

Due to the tropical vibe everything was very damp. To be expected but it did make things feel and smell a bit musty.

The host was very helpful and organsied a day trip for us. The breakfast was the best we have had in Brazil. Also we felt really welcomed. We had a bad experience in Rio previously, and the island really improved things for our trip and wellbeing. It was so nice to recieve a warm welcome and cold water, after a long few days! The location was great! The value for money and amazing hospitality were amazing. We would stay here again.

The rooms could do with a little updating but I appreciate that it is an island and the rooms had some rustic charm.

We enjoyed our stay at Pousada Tagomago. Rooms were comfortable, if a little basic. Staff were really friendly and helpful and breakfast was amazing!

There was nothing we didn’t like

We absolutely loved this little guest house! Stunning views from our room/balcony which had a cute yellow hammock. I loved waking up to the sound of nature and sea view. All the staff was super friendly and helpful, gave us great tips for places to visit and eat in in the evening. I highly recommend Canoas. The breakfast in the guest house was very good. Great choice every day, with different fresh seasonal fruits, fresh fruit juices, home made cakes, freshly made eggs, bread basket etc. The coffee was great too. I also loved that they made a fresh batch of coffee around 4pm every day and we could help ourselves to coffe/tea in the afternoon as well as the cake ☺️ There’s also free filtered water available all day. I can’t recommend this little paradise enough! On our last day after we checked out, the staff let us keep the towels to use later after spending more time at the beach and also the outside shower which was super helpful. I hope to return to this place one day. ☺️
