Refugio do Cacupé is a place of blissful tranquility thst makes you feel like you were in nature, even though it is just a short drive from the centre. The building is beautiful and allows you to hang in a hammock even on rainy days. Staff was super friendly - just as the dogs there. It is a place to truly disconnect you from your everyday life and is at the same time well-conmected to any restaurants, trails or beaches you might want to visit. Even though we didn't have a car and the tranquil location means it is a bit off and rather secluded, we got around just fine using Uber or walking - so don't discard this wonderful pousada if it is due to not having a car available ;)

Location is in a residential neighborhood with access to a small private beach through the garden. Guests need a car or Uber to get to restaurants and sightseeing. The village SanAntonio de Lisboa is very close.

Beautiful hidden with private beach. Lovely family run business. Very unique, peaceful hotel. Views were amazing, making you feel immersed in nature, away from the busyness of city life. Lots of great restaurants a stones throw away. Staff very very helpful also. Would defo recommend

The private beach and the monkeys playing in the backyard. The home feeling while staying in a hotel. Great food and coffee. The ocean view through the garden. The fruit trees. The free boats for water sports. Bring your fishing gear -I caught 4 fish from the private beach using shrimp for bait. Have fun, its a great place!

We loved the beautiful views from the rooms and the verandas. Breakfast outside on the veranda. Posada was designed as an architect house, now in the process of being fully upgraded. Beautiful garden with a very small beach. Rooms were spacious, comfy beds. Very kind and helpful staff, advising us on restaurants and excursions. Very good breakfast. Restaurants are close by, within short drive of roughly 5-7 min. Spacious free parking on the property. Very quiet place.

We stayed one night in the Deluxe Suite with Spa Bath after flying into Florianopolis from Italy to rest before driving home to Porto Alegre and it was amazing! We will definitely do it again! The view was beautiful during the morning, sunset and at night. The hotel was quiet and the private beach and gardens were awesome! The staff were friendly, informative and polite. The room and spa were sparkling clean and smelled delicious. The shower is hot and powerful! It was a romantic and perfect getaway! We will be back.

It might be a little remote in the off season if you’re looking for things close by to do. The place is beautiful, however. I can imagine in the summer it’s amazing.

The premises are beautiful. The garden and access to the beach are incredible.

Chromecast for the TV in the room didn't work as we were told, and our inquiry about it was forgotten - understandable because there was an event on in the space that night, but still a shame. Also important was that there didn't seem to be stair-free access to the different levels of the building.

The Refugio is a peaceful paradise: the building is beautifully designed and the garden is lush. The beach is in effect private, even if not officially, because of the location. The views are amazing. The cutlery, sink, water tap, and coffee station are available all the time so you can eat and drink outside of the breakfast hours. Breakfast itself was great and plenty of buffet options - freshly baked pastries, fruit, yoghurt, meats and cheeses - as well as eggs or tapioca cooked to order. The room was very clean with a large bed and bathroom. You can fairly easily get a taxi to nearby Santo Antonio de Lisboa, probably the prettiest town on the island. Finally, the family who own and run the hotel are a lovely team and very welcoming. Muito obrigado!

Exceeded my expectations. It's an interesting building that mixes the best aspects of a cozy home and a serious hotel. I knew from the reviews to expect the amazing garden and private beach, but there were more surprises: indoor hammocks, a balcony overlooking the garden, a kayak and SUP board (with life jackets!), fantastic breakfast, and the pure peacefulness of the place.
