But the hostel is being abandoned in a way. The kitchen is big yes, but doesn't have much to cook and eat (there is only one cup for all the customers!). In one of the dorms the small is not nice and the bathrooms need renovation.

The top bunk bed’s mattress has sunk in the middle and the pillow is soo high it makes it uncomfortable to sleep. No sockets near your bed (despite saying so on Booking). The kitchen needs serious refurbishment - no spoons, no bowls, pans and pots without handles, out of service oven and water takes agessss to boil. The touchscreen padlock on the main entrance is so funny to use - maybe it needs something different cause it makes it hard to use. At some point at night guests had to go downstairs to open the door at other guests….

Really good location - 5 min walk to the bus station and the town centre. Big supermarket nextdoor. Spacious living room to hang out and nice balcony to overlook the street and well as relax. Big size lockers to keep your belongings safe and good bathrooms (cleaned and fully working). Staff speaks good English and the owners are very sweet, especially the mum. Many Europeans around, really nice to hang out.

Sheets never stay on the mattress. I tried something different every single day without success. Get bigger or fitted sheets.

Location is excellent. Kitchen is good to have although people tend to stack dirty dishes in the sink meaning that nobody else can use the sink. Fridge, cooker, microwave, sandwich toaster. Clothes drying lines on 1st floor balcony but nothing on the ground floor. Not a problem. You get your laundry dried so that's great. Nice common areas on the ground and on the first floor..

there I one aircon for each room and the room is very big. the person that sleeps under the aircon is comfortable but the rest of the room is very hot. other than that perfect!

Mattresses are mouldy. Room is mouldy. Very hot at night, only 1 small a/c in 14 bed dorm. Bathrooms are not cleaned regularly enough. Also didn’t like the vibe of Mum/Son. Son does all the work and Mum always nagging him. Arguing in front of guests is not okay.

The whole hostel is not in great condition. The room really needs refurbishing, particularly the beds. There’s no windows in the room, the water didn’t work occasionally. It’s extremely hot at night as the ac didn’t work properly. The kitchen lacks utensils. It is one of the cheapest hostels in páraty, but it’s not worth saving a few Reís for. I hope they invest a bit into the place as it has potential :)

No warm water. Extremely poor kitchen with barely any cutlery. I got food poisoning from it even though I washed thoroughly. Mould in the room and on all mattresses. Water kept going. Room not cleaned before we went in. No toilet roll or basic items.

Gustavo was the best Hostal host that I have ever had in my life… The kitchen was absolutely amazing and all of the people there were super super incredible people.

Stayed in private room for 2 nights, hostel is really good location has supermarket next door and pharmacies around, the bedroom was clean and a good size, beds were comfy, shared bathroom was also nice and clean, has a kitchen with a fridge and freezer so you can cook if you want, hostel owner was helpful too. They also offer a boat tour to pretty islands and beaches and you can have bottomless caipirinhas which was fun!

They wrote that they have air con. They absolutely do not. The had a sweltering room with windows left open and I was bitten so much. I moved to a smaller room with a musty fan. They cannot claim to have something like air-con when it’s a massive deal for people who get bitten and in a heatwave. Kitchen is beyond old and has a few rusty pots and one cup and filthy appliances and place needs maintenance badly.

The staff were nice. Ok location, a few minutes from town. One volunteer tried to say I can’t hang too many clothes when I planned to before checking in go to the laundrette and not let them dry. She told me to hand wash it bothered her, and I said no I need to do all my laundry and it dries in 3 hours max. The others were nice.
