Like to sleep with the windows open. Heard big trucks bombing down the road at 6am. Not the owners fault. So just had to get up and close the terrace door to block the noise in the early am.

It was a beautifully kept historical home, with a spacious room, walk out to large roof terrace with seating, comfortable bed, nice smelling shampoo/conditioner and beautiful seasonal flowers surrounding the property. Amanda met us at our car once we parked, introduced herself, got us settled and gave us info of the area and a map. Made us feel at home and gave cell number in case we needed anything. Breakfast was served at 9am for all the guests, in the long dining room table, where we all ate together as a family. John and Amanda served us a delicious breakfast, starting with steel cut oats, fresh local strawberries, granola and yogurt. Second course was fresh herb and cheese bread. Third course was local sausages, a fresh local tomato dish with free basil infused oil and whipped ricotta cheese, and an apple, maple french toast. Tended to our every need and always checked in to see if we needed anything. An easy walk to our restaurant and Avon Theatre. Will definitely make this an annual event.

We were in the front room and experienced extremely loud street noise that affected our ability to sleep. On the 2nd night the hosts graciously relocated us to their back room where we avoided some of the street noise. Rooms are quite cool.

The location is walkable to the Avon Theater, restaurants, and shopping. The hosts are friendly and accommodating. The room is spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed having our own outdoor patio space.

Shampoo, conditioner, and soaps in the shower, were in those no-name plastic containers stuck on the wall. (Really a minor comment.)

The location couldn’t be more perfect—centrally located and yet a bit removed from the hustle and bustle of commercial Stratford. Amanda and John are lovely hosts, gifted at anticipating needs. John’s breakfasts are artful and delicious! The house has been lovingly restored and thoughtfully appointed, with comfortable spaces to relax and eye-catching art. Our room was airy and welcoming. The deck and the old lilac blooming outside our window were special treats.

We were in the front room and the road noise was very loud, I realize that being on the main street this is something out of the establishment’s control, but I was surprised at how many trucks go by in the early hours.

The house was clean, lovely, and very close to theatres and downtown. The host was very pleasant.

The breakfast was amazing!! Fresh berries and Oatmeal. Smoked Back Bacon done on premises. Beautiful Crème Brule French Toast that was to die for. Fresh made cornbread. It was just delicious.

Beautiful house and wonderful hosts, plus within very easy walking distance to the town centre, theatres, and lakefront. We felt so welcomed and the breakfast was delicious. Would love to stay here again!

The room had no climate control and it was a bit cool.

The home is well maintained and decorated tastefully with some really unique furniture. The breakfast exceeded our expectations in every way. Local, fresh, unique, delicious, and filling. The host introduced each course as it was delivered. One of our best breakfast experiences at a Bed and Breakfast.

I didn't like having to leave after one night. Had time permitted, I would have stayed a few more nights.

The room I stayed in was perfectly self-contained and decorated with a beach house feel; there was even a private patio The hosts were welcoming but not intrusive, and the family-style breakfast was a wonderful opportunity to discuss the productions we saw. As a vegan, their breakfast menu didn't have a lot of options for me, but they very kindly pulled together a fruit and spinach smoothie for me, and the steel cut oats were delicious and filling. If you like meat, they cure and smoke their own back bacon from local pork. The house is located within walking distance of all three theatres and the downtown area, which is great if you aren't driving!

We were sent many emails, messages and called before our stay repeating the same questions about when will we check in, do we have specific food needs (we don’t) that we answered on the Booking.com site right when we booked. When I called them back I was very rudely spoken to telling me we are “too low maintenance to be guests at their property as they serve only high maintenance guests”.

Our booking was very rudely cancelled with no explanation right before our trip leaving us with no place to stay and we needed to quickly find a new place.
