We had such a great stay! The location was amazing, and we got to enjoy a beautiful view of the Three Sisters right from our balcony! Everything was super comfortable and easy. Highly recommend this place - we'll definitely be back!

There was no covered entrance for loading and unloading luggage. There was no breakfast offered. The security for guests was nonexistent, the door from the primary parking lot was left blocked open with a piece of wood.

Very large and comfortable room in an older hotel.

Some of the facilities could use an update — the TV, lighting, and sink felt a bit old and dated. With some renovations, this place could feel much more modern and inviting.

Great location, near to all my comfort places such as GongCha, convenient stores. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay, which made the experience even better. The room was spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable — I had a great night’s sleep

Air-conditioner placement in outer room made cooling the whole room difficult.

Downtown was only a short drive.

Great value, good facilities, super friendly staff, but a bit dated.

The room facilities are a bit dated, but served us well during our stay and the price was fantastic value, compared to many other similar nearby locations. The bathroom in our room was an over bath shower, which might be a problem for some people. The in-room fireplace had a pilot light permanently lit and this did give out some low heat, which meant the air conditioning had to be on most of the time to compensate and this seemed very energy wasteful. The air conditioning was a bit noisy and at ground level. I had to position a wall of pillows on the nearby spare bed to block the direct line of cold air hitting me when I was sleeping and it did wake me up several times. Canadian/ American bedding is not my favourite set up, but this is not limited to this hotel. A ‘comforter’ is sandwiched between a top and bottom sheet and I find this a battle when sleeping as the sheets continually move off the comforter and is a tangled mess by the morning. If you are used to wonderful and easy European Duvets with buttoned duvet covers, the North American bedding might frustrate you as it did me…in every hotel we stayed.

The Canmore is a fantastic location and base for touring the national parks and surrounding areas of Banff and Jasper. There is ample parking with multiple entrances that help moving cases and luggage. There are two giant washing machines and tumble dryers in the onsite coin operated laundry facilities which work brilliantly and are low cost to use. The wash powder and change can be provided by reception and we found being able to wash and dry our clothes during our Canada road trip was so useful. We mistakenly booked a twin bed queen room, but appreciated the extra bed to use for laying out clothes etc. The reception staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We were in a ground floor room, (with a front door and window that looked out onto the main road and mountains) and it was very well insulated from the road noise and draught proofed. The room was a good size and we had a large fireplace (we visited in summer, but in winter this would be a very nice feature to have for extra heating and cosiness).

The locks on the doors could use some updating - the keys were a bit sticky to open. The toilet needs to be updated - it had trouble flushing.

The front common room was comfy and welcoming. There were couches, sets of wingback chairs with tables and a roaring fireplace in the evening. Sitting in front of the fire in the evening having a cuppa tea or coffee was very relaxing. The front desk attendant was nice and friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable and our room had a fantastic view of the mountains.

There were carpenter ants in the 1st room and the back of the chair fell off while I was sitting on it. The front desk staff handled the situation well. He gave me a new room, checked the room first and helped me with my luggage. The 2nd room was great except the fireplace didn't turn on.

The location is great, bed super comfy, staff wonderful. I liked the hotel. The fireplace in the 1st room was lovely.
