How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewNot my first or last time staying here. It's actually my first choice of places to stay whenever I'm planning to stay overnight in the city. I have never personally met the hosts but they are friendly in their reply to my messages and questions. Since I drive the location is reasonably close to the venues I attend when in town. It's actually close to the major highways making access to them very easy for me. As I said this is always my first choice for places to stay and I recommend it to anyone who asks.

Verified reviewIt was in a good location, we were just staying one night from a late flight into the airport and with it being so close, was a great cheap place to stay. You get what you pay for, we had no issues
They have a sign on the door telling you not to let the homeless people sleep on the couch and to keep the door locked. I know it’s just security, but makes you feel a little uneasy.

Verified reviewIt is easy to access. The homeowner provides all the info before arrival, and it matches the description.
There is no first aid kit or anything similar. I injured myself and couldn't find an aid band. There are notes everywhere telling you what not to do, like you're in elementary school.

lack of communication skills ( didn't speak/understand much English), gave our room to someone else so we had to go to a different location, no WiFi so we could get directions to second location, no air conditioning or way to adjust heat/ cooling

The floors were dirty even though I was told I could not wear my shoes in the house. The bathroom towels were dirty and smelled bad, I had to use a clean shirt after a second shower to dry off. There are hand written notes all over the house dehumanizing guests with repeated rules. This was by far the least clean accommodation I've seen in a long while. At the last minute I was given a different room in a different house at a different address. This happened while I was driving and they demanded I respond.
own feet are smelly, but it still think others dirty! why don't you take off your outdoor shoes when you enter the house? We have slippers for the guests! Why does such a noble person put lipstick on a white bath towel? We have provided guests with makeup remover cotton and cotton swabs! The rules have been repeatedly prompted. Why can't you abide by them? Do you need humanity for people like you? Once again, remind the brainless women , don't book with shared public accommodations!

We always like to remind guests of our additional house rules, as these are the most important to follow: 🔕No outdoor shoes in the house. 🔕No pets, No visitors, No smoking,No Cannabis and drugs indoor and around the house! 🔕 No open flames or Candles; 🔕Quiet hours 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM, turn off public lights and check locks, please respect all neighbours at all hours both inside and outside of the house; If any guest makes noise that affects your rest, please send a message in time

Kitchen and its facilities were disgusting. Microwave severely rusted out inside (dangerous!) and kettle was full of scale. Bin full of rubbish and no lid which made the place smell. Multiple smoke alarms had been removed, one of those being in one of the 2 rooms shared by our group. Owner immediately became threatening when these issues were raised. Felt very uncomfortable. Our group didn’t use the shower facilities due to feeling unsafe. The CV surveillance was unsettling too.
Very unpopular groups, many people crowded in public areas to make a lot of noise, all kinds of pickiness! I will no longer accept groups to book two or three rooms at the same time. It's disgusting and stingy, group people like to remove the smoke alarm as a camera monitor! Security surveillance will give single guests and good people safety and security ; bad people or they want to do xxthings or people who have committed crimes hate video surveillance, they try to remove and block it!

Verified reviewGood location, decent place for the price and adequate for a very short stay. Quiet clean house with shared kitchen and bathroom. We arrived late from a flight and left early the next day for the Rockies.
Room was small, bathroom is ok but not extremely clean and everything looks very old and used. Towels were worn, tiny and smelled bad. Luckily we could open the window to get air because it was stuffy, if we needed air conditioning or heat, it would have been quite uncomfortable. It's also very restrictive in terms of rules and expectations, so we didn't feel at ease. It feels unfriendly, unnecessarily strict, and not welcoming. No cooking allowed, no noise, no shoes, multiple surveillance cameras, etc. It's fine for less than 12 hours, just to sleep and get ready for the day.
Strict and not allowed are for those who don't follow the rules! There are two security cameras for the whole house for single guests more safety ! Towels are used for less than one year. If you feel old, you can bring your own. It not necessarily provided! Can you enjoy 9 hours of sleep without quiet time? The house is about 20 years old, the room is not small! If you think it is small, it is because you should book a suite with a private bathroom, which is more suitable for two people! The bathroom will not be shared with other guests! - [ ] The guests use the frying pan or pot to cook, the strong smell and smoking is often triggered the fire alarm work and other guests complained； another reason, some guests cook food in the kitchen until midnight, others guests can not sleep,so no stove for cooking in the website ad.; in the kitchen, we provided a microwave, a small oven, a toaster, a kettle, fridge and an electric cooker for simple cooking!

Soap should be a body wash and NOT a bar soap, as it's used by all the people in the house. Not ideally hygienic. Microwave is very dirty, cant even use it. Cleaning supplies are not in proper place. Duvet cover smells like it hasnt been washed
We have professional cleaners cleaning the house every day from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm; if the kitchen or bathroom common areas are soiled by guests staying in, there are cleaning products and rags in the common areas; your are Airbnb cleaner should be know how to do it! We need employees like you!
