Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MexicoThere was only one toilet and 3 showers per floor, which can be a bit problematic. I suggest that the breakfast should start from 7am, since there are people leaving early, like us, who didn't have the chance to eat before leaving because the kitchen was still closed.
The 2 bunk bedroom is good for a couple. Not super comfortable but good enough to spend the night. Great location and cute building. It is old but cozy.

United KingdomShould specify that you need to provide padlock for lockers. There was some confusion with bookings made for bottom bunks but was resolved amicably.
Comfortable bunk mattress and bed linen. Breakfast selection is very good. The room curtains kept out the light from the street and the soundproofing was decent for road noise.

NepalThe Pillow was thin that won’t comfort your neck to sleep. The blanket should be given thicker than now during winter. As I travel on October so there won’t be a problem though.

United StatesIs not about the place, it’s me I have shared my space before then for me it was a challenge to share bedroom you must to be willing to be lack of privacy I have a lower bed then I could put my towel like a curtain. Other lady brought a sheet to do it.
Decent clean room and bathroom, delicious breakfast, very nice terrace. I was more than 10 years ago there and I was in a private, but now is nicer and the people then and now looks different, now you feel safer.

CanadaDidn't have the time to visit the patio. For my heavy luggage, the turning front stairs were harder to negotiate. Some difficulties with my too-thick pillow on the first night. For the rest, par for the course.
The staff was very nice and went the extra-mile when I had to leave earlier for the Montréal Marathon 5k race. The breakfast. The cupboard of available free food. The quiet period between 11h PM and 7 am. The books and magazines galore! The location close to subway stations

CanadaI felt like the cleanliness of the room and the hotel in general could be improved. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great- there were clumps of hair in a couple corners of my room. I also didnt realize that there is no soap/shampoo in the rooms which was a huge inconvenience for us. I also wish I had a bathroom door and not a thin curtain. It lacked privacy in such a small, compact room. Where our room was situated, it looked like it could still be under construction. We had a private rooftop space with a door out to a patio. The patio looked unfinished and it was unfurnished. We also got swarmed by wasps as soon as we opened the door as they all were living in the actual walls right outside the room. It was pretty disappointing not being able to use the patio attached to our room. The price we had paid for this room was very similar to higher end hotels. This is actually a hostel.
Auberge du Plateau is a very unique space. It has character and the building is beautiful and historic. The photos online don't do it justice - it's really lovely. The shared rooftop patio is stunning. The breakfast was good. The staff is lovely and helpful. I can't say enough good things about those lovely folks. The bed was super comfortable and the room was unique and quirky.

United KingdomThe bed was comfortable though the bottom bunk was not high enough for the occupants to sit upright. Bring on the top bunk I wished the person who constructed the bed had not put the ladder on upside down as the pointed part facing upwards makes it uncomfortable to climb.
I stayed for several nights in a female shared room with three bunk beds. Each bed had its own light and access to plug socket. There were small lockers on which you can use your own padlock : big enough for electronic devices and handbag. Towel is included. On the floor there were a couple of showers and a toilet plus a combined toilet and shower which always seemed to be occupied. Breakfast was included which was boiled eggs , yoghurt and orange segments with pancakes made each morning. The kitchen area was available for use to cook and some microwave meals for sale. There are a few communal areas: the kitchen area and lounge are combined. The rooftop Terrace is a great place to hang out when not too hot.

CanadaNothing on your side. Next time we might book a bed instead of bunk beds but this is on us and NOT you. We choose the bunk beds because they were such good value and we were only there for a few hours in the night before having to get up for an early flight.
We needed an affordable clean room for an easy night in MTL. We couldn’t have found a better place!
