How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewPension Kristian was fantastic! Eva, the owner, welcomed us warmly and showed us everything - she was very kind and polite. The entire building is beautifully renovated with an elegant yet simple interior design. Our group took 4 rooms and everyone loved it. Our room was spotless, and we especially appreciated the air-conditioning on a hot day. We also opted for breakfast, which was absolutely worth it - fresh and delicious! The location in the old town was perfect.
The parking lot is a bit further away, especially if you have lot of luggage. Not an issue for us but could be for some with less mobility.

Verified reviewThe location was ok. Very closed to all of the main attractions. The parking lot was 5 minutes away, was not a problem. The old building seems to be very newly renovated, everything mew and tidy. Nice shower etc...
The room was an attic room (on the very top of the building). So, the walls were not vertical. There were two rooftop windows. According to the offer it should be a city view room :). So the space were very-very small. Everything very tight but we could cope all.

The attic rooms have sloped ceilings, but the space still allows for comfortable movement. Verified reviewThis gem is perfectly situated in the heart of the town. Several things were especially notable. The first is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. They were so accommodating and I felt so welcome. Second the bed linens were of an incredibly high quality - super comfortable. Finally, the breakfast was really superb. Overall, one of my favorite places to stay!

Without any warning, there was a live rock band playing in the street directly outside the hotel. My room was facing this street. Band played from 8pm to 12am. During this period it was impossible to sleep. Reception only available for a few hours a day Breakfast not included
Dear William, thank you for your visit and your stay with us. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the facilities of our rooms and the cleanliness, which we take great pride in. Although we regret your dissatisfaction with the music – which we discussed with you during the evening – as we have already explained, the accommodation is located right in the heart of the historic town centre, where such events are held during the summer season. These events are not constant; they take place only from time to time, and occasionally even in our street, where they create the atmosphere of a small concert. The concert is open to the public free of charge, and many guests and visitors find it very enjoyable. The town has a municipal ordinance that allows all events, including extended evening activities, until midnight so that guests can enjoy not only the beauty of the town but also its entertainment. We fully understand that you were not happy with the noise, but this is something that can happen in the centre of towns like Český Krumlov. We did our best to accommodate you in every possible way, but we are aware that it is not always possible to meet every expectation. We are a small family-run guesthouse, not a hotel, and we do not have a 24-hour reception. However, we are always present either here, in our other accommodations, or available by phone. Breakfast is not included in the accommodation price, but it can be ordered upon arrival 😊. We trust that you still enjoyed your time in the town, and we wish you a wonderful day.
