How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The apartment is very clean. In 4 min away from Freiburg center with the public transportation. The owner lives in the house but it was not a problem for me.

Unfortunately, i think the other renter had a dog and sometimes i could hear it back but it was not a dealbreaker. It was also further from the city center than i realised but it does have good access to transport services.
- the place was isolated in a quiet neighbourhood, it has great transport links.

The apartment was very comfortable with all the facilities. the location is also perfect 2 min away from the train station. The owner is very welcoming and provides all the necessities. the bathroom and kitchen was very neat and clean. 10/10

The house is very clean and quiet in a very good neighborhood just a few steps from a train station and 5-6 minutes from tram station. It's approximately 10 minutes away from the town center with tram. The room is very spacious, comfortable and quite warm during winter. The toilet is always clean and there is 24 hours hot water for shower. There is also a washing machine and everything you need during your stay. Access to the property is by a lockpad on the door and the combination was given by the host prior to our visit. I have no idea about the kitchen as I didn't enter but I think it might also have what is needed. Patrick is an excellent host and you barely notice his presence at home. I highly recommend this house for your visit to Freiburg. Thank you!

I really enjoyed my time here, the house was clean, conveniently located, and Patrick (the host) was helpful, quick to respond to my inquiries, and kind. The kitchen was fully stocked (dishes, flatware, cookware, coffee maker, spices, etc.) and I had more than enough to live comfortably for a few days.

Very close to city center, we have also walked from there through some parks. Patrick is very friendly and the communication went great. We highly recommend this place ❤️

The place was very clean and well equipped. The train station was right in front of the house. The host had sent all the details before check-in. Overall it was a very comfortable stay :) We had a very nice time.

only very slight issue is that the 4 min train to the hauptbahnhof is only every hour or so. But it's less than a minute's walk to the station! And there are more frequent slower trains. Also a frequent bus service (number 4) just a 5-10 min walk away.
all very good. good location, good facilities. great bakery/cafe just round the corner. Shared bathroom/kitchen facilities are with only one/two other rooms and very close by.

- Although the listing mentions a kitchen, all utensils, cutlery, pots, pans and most items are marked “private” and cannot be used. This means you cannot really cook and are limited to using just the mugs, even teaspoons are not available. - The bathroom floor got a little wet because the shower curtain is not ideal. We wiped it dry, but the host still commented on it quite aggressively. - He was also very particular about noise, for example, at 9 am, just quietly opening the door to use the bathroom led to him asking us not to open and close it as he was sleeping. - We also overheard him expressing frustration toward a couple with a crying baby, which they obviously could not help.
The host clearly takes pride in keeping the place very clean and well organised, which we appreciated.

The room was looking good and clean, except my cat was inspecting every single corner and she found lots of dust.
I was happy to find a city property to an affordable price. In fact it was for my cat, that wasn’t welcomed to my friends house. Room was nice and the bed mattress very comfortable.
