How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewI was accused of slamming a door! Sent video footage,- very intimidating by staff!!! I was travelling alone and was really uncomfortable with staying there 😕 it's not a good place to stay location wise and rooms are not good and without a window, false advertising of rooms! No outdoor areas as advertised! Terrible experience, do not go there!
We appreciate your comment, even if it's only intended to damage our property's reputation for the simple fact that we couldn't let you bring two men into your room at night since your room was a single room. Our responsibility is to ensure the rest of all our guests, so we always ask that you please refrain from making noise or slamming doors. I must also correct you, as all our rooms have a window and balcony, and your room in particular had an extremely large balcony, which, after a full week of staying, is hard not to have noticed.😅 It's also strange that you would mention the outdoor areas when you were always smoking on our cozy patio overlooking the outside, decorated with a decor you told us you loved at the beginning. I'm sorry for your "terrible" experience with us, which you never mentioned because you always thanked us for how comfortable you were with us, and we have written proof of that in our WhatsApp chat. Verified reviewThe staff. If I can imagine the perfect devotion and attentiveness from the people at a hotel, this was it. Such a great hospitality and proactive attitude to make sure I'm satisfied... I'm utterly impressed. It's genuine kindness and dedication on an exceptional level. I've only seen it once before and that was at a 5-star hotel in Bangkok. The room was simple but functional. Extremely clean. Well worth the money. In fact, I left a tip because I was so satisfied.

Verified reviewThis property is super close to ADDA, so is a great location if you are at a conference. It is also a short walk to the harbor and the downtown shopping district. The host is super friendly, nice, helpful, and amazing. Anything at all that you need, she will help you with. The property is impeccably clean and well kept up. There is a kitchen and space in the fridge, and the market is close which helps save money if you are staying a longer time.
The host did an excellent job of keeping it clean, but there is a shared bathroom at this property. My room had very new furniture and a comfortable bed, but it did have a slight musty smell.

I have selected this place mostly looking at the rating. 9.5 is very high it has always been a good metric for me. Not this one. It is a very sad place with a shared bathroom, which is shared across 4 rooms. I was not aware that there was no private bathroom. This is a small flat separated into 4 rooms with a shared bathroom, the owners(keepers) live in the same place with little children who cry at night. In addition, I have requested an invoice and the property did not give it to me , despite filling all the forms in booking.com in advance.
First of all, we want to thank you for your stay with us. We want to clarify that the baby you heard about belongs to guests who stayed with us for five days on vacation. We don't have babies and don't live here. We're just here every day to clean and assist guests. Secondly, the shared bathroom is clearly stated before booking, which never causes any problems because it's always clean and disinfected after each use. I think it's in poor taste to leave a review like that when you told us you were delighted with the service, cleanliness, and location of the place, and that you changed your mind after we repeatedly told you not to slam the doors because guests were complaining about the noise you were making. Verified reviewThe hostess was really nice. She offered transfer to and from airport for a reasonable price. The room was small, but it had bed, nightstand and a wardrobe. Shared spaces were clean and had everything that was needed for my stay. Great location. Grocery store and tobacco shop are nearby, <1 min from stay. City center about 15 min walk. Also about 20 mins walk to the sea with many bars and restaurants on the way

The room had no window. Unfortunately I couldn"t sleep well because the mattress was too hard for me and the blanket too thin, so I woke up every few minutes. I could hear people talking. As I have been airbnb host for a long time I kmow that everybody hast different preferences: thin/high/soft/hard mattresses, feather/linen/cotton/whatever blankets - you can never provide the right equipment 🤭

Although, with your permission, I have to correct you: each and every one of our rooms has a window, and quite large ones, and others have fairly large balconies as well. And regarding the blanket, what you had on the bed is the sheet you always use. In the closet, there are two blankets: a softer, thinner one and a down comforter, so you can choose whichever you prefer. 😊 We also apologize for anything that may have bothered you, and this helps us improve a lot. It's not a balcony, but it does have a window, and it's quieter than the balcony 😅. And the beach, I always explain, is just a straight walk down one street, which is a leisurely 10-15 minute walk 🥰.
