We didn't realise how far away we were from amenities that we could walk to (we didn't have a car). The room was super stuffy making it uncomfortable at night especially. The central heating wasn't working downstairs in the communal areas and wasn't fixed as advised. It would have been nice to have a bar fridge in the room.

The location was perfect for us as we were flying from Gatwick. The architecture is stunning! The spa treatments were divine, as was the afternoon tea and the food generally at the restaurant.

The room was incredibly stuffy and warm and there was nothing we could do. The aircon wasn’t working and of course the window only opened an inch or two

Facilities look a bit dated, it was hot in the restaurant while we were dining.

Great breakfast! Our room was also of good size so it was good as we had kids with us, also we really enjoyed the fact that there was air conditioning in our room as there was a heatwave! Gorgeous views from our room. The spa and healthclub were great (gym, yoga room, pool etc.)

Portion size of breakfast is small. Coffee machine water tank smelt musty.

The staff were very attentive. The staff were very helpful, lost my ring down the drain and it was retrieved promptly.

The breakfast buffet was sparse and not replenished once it was empty. The sourdough toast (with avocado) was badly burnt, the scrambled eggs were runny, despite me asking for them well done, they were just scrapped from around the edges of a larger dish to catch the less runny bits. Pre dinner, the only draft beer available (poretti) was off, which the barman wasn’t even aware of. Other than the above, all else was excellent.

Breakfast room was beautiful, but the breakfast was sub standard in relation to the surroundings. The spa facilities were very good, well organised and clean.

To be charged £25 for a glass of white wine, we were not given a choice of wines, outrageous. We felt the bar staff were bordering arrogant when challenged and not one bit apologetic. I don't suppose we will have any feed back but thought you should know.

Welcome at front desk was first class a credit to the hotel. Breakfast was excellent, the waitress was excellent, nothing was too much bother, she was a credit to the hotel.

Air conditioning in room 18 was a bit too noisy - needs a check over. Music from 9.30 Blast class ruined the calm facial and massages we had booked - way too loud but after raising this, compensation was offered quickly. Need a few cheaper options on the wine list. Not allowing dogs into the restaurant does cause a few issues if you have a dog and creates a lot more work for staff having to lay tables to eat elsewhere or outside. Was fine for us as this was the summer and we could go outside but there are limited tables for eating from outside the restaurant. Could an area inside the restaurant be cordoned off for those families with dogs?

All the staff were lovely. They really pay a lot of attention to guests and their dogs. Shout out to Norbert Jose Florin Abdul and Elisa on the front desk. There were some really nice younger girls working there but without name badges so they are at a disadvantage as we can’t name them in this review. Make sure all staff have name badges management! Beds and pillows were super comfortable and there was a turn down sevice. Spa had good treatments and dogs also allowed into the cafe bar area which was a plus. Staff dealt with any issues very quickly -see below. Cocktails in bar and food all very good

Spa is ok, the pool was on the small side for my liking and shallow. The hot tub was not that powerful either. But I was here for the walks with my dog. I loved my huge suite; apart from the curtains, they had seen better days, as they were ripped.

Loved the hotel grounds and the breakfast was delicious, lots to choose from.

Finding out how to turn a light on was a bit of a challenge, and the breakfast was a tad below par for the price range.

The only downsides were the numerous small up and down steps to get from the room to the lift and the lack of soundproofing from the door (was woken very early by next door leaving and creaking floorboards in the corridor). Not the greatest view from the room!

Striking historical building with period features back as a hotel. Very comfortable and super terrace with stunning views towards the Weald. Very friendly staff and great service. Very nice breakfast outside. Very large pool with steam room and sauna included in the stay.

Cooked breakfast was the worst I’ve had in a long time. Eggs Benedict; Stale, not toasted or buttered muffin, really under poached eggs, hollandaise from a carton. Eggs and avocado ordered; eggs and spinach delivered. Scrambled eggs; overcooked, mixed with cream and liquid running all over the plate. A shame as it’s the last thing most guests will experience!

Room was clean and air con was a brilliant addition.

Grounds and hotel was beautiful, our room was way to hot as A/C didn't work properly, and I felt for the price of the restaurant the food definitely didn't live up to the standard.
