Parking in the village is challenging, but we found a spot just outside which was a short walk in. There is a bus which runs down to Hebden Bridge but otherwise it's a fairly punishing walk up the hill to get back.

Loved the room decor, which was unique and stylish. The Thai food in the pub downstairs is top notch and the breakfast too :)

This is a lovely and characterful B&B with pub downstairs serving delicious Thai food. My room (a single) was comfy and cosy, with a spotlessly clean en-suite bathroom. Staff are superb – friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed a freshly-cooked breakfast in the morning, accompanied by lots of continental-style fayre. If you're coming from Hebden Bridge, it's a steep 20-minute climb up to the property (but worth it for the unique ambience of Heptonstall) – or there's a little bus that seems to run roughly every half hour throughout the day. Would definitey recommend!

Some of the decor was a little tired, but given the age of the place, that may be expected. After check out, you have to not only leave the room, but the building - there's nowhere to sit and have a cup of tea. This wouldn't have been a problem, but there were no cafes/pubs/anything open in the village. Even the museum was closed. I had an appointment at 12. Check out was 10 and, very fortunately, staff let me stay til 11, so I only had an hour to while away, so I popped into an abandoned church and explored some fields!

Stunning sixteenth century inn, in a village that looks like something from a fairytale. It really was magical. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel also does incredible Thai food at very decent prices.

The room was a bit too warm. Not a big thing but there were no tea bags just coffee!

The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was also spacious and a pleasure to use, with a good bath. The staff and locals made me very welcome, being a solo traveller and a woman I felt safe and welcome and well looked after. Food was alao good, I ordered a Thai meal.one evening that was high quality! The breakfast was good with a decent choice, I didnt try the cooked breakfast. Location is good too, a little walk from Hebden but nice to see this little village and its connectiins to Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes.

We know it was a pub but in the Saturday night there were lots of noisy people until well after 1am which is not in order.

Breakfast was good, room was nice. Staff were helpful.

Breakfast was a little misleading as we were presented with an option sheet to book breakfast in advance: the choice being a cooked meat or veggie option or a continental breakfast . We both choose the veggie option which consisted of three sausages, a fried egg and two slices of bread. As we were eating the cook/host came into the breakfast area and said she hoped we were enjoying our complimentary breakfast as this wasn’t part of the package price. Only the continental one was and thus our breakfast was complimentary from the hotel. This was said in front of other guests which made us feel a little uncomfortable. As feedback I suggest guests are not given the option sheet and are simply provided with the continental choice to save confusion.

Location was perfect for exploring surrounding areas.

No hot water on the morning after and the toilet had an unpleasant smell. You should be aware that although this place is close to Hebden Bridge, it is up a very steep hill. We had decided to walk it and arrived very sweaty. You can get a bus from the station and Ubers were around a fiver.

Unusual and picturesque setting with lots of history. Lady behind the bar was very chatty. Pub does Thai food which was excellent as was the breakfast. Room was quite big and well appointed.

All the milk was off in the room. Walking from the station was awful - up that street with an almost 45 degree slope for over half a mile.

Very comfortable. En Suite was a nice surprise because my booking said it had a shared bathroom.

A great hotel above a lovely pub in picturesque Heptonstall. Immediately made to feel welcome on arrival by Lynsey & then by Linda. The authentic Thai food prepared and cooked by Linda really is excellent. I will definitely look forward to staying here again.

Location is amazing, stunning views across Calder Valley. Short bus ride from Hebdon Bridge, £2.90 for an all day ticket. Great pub, lovely locals who welcomed all guests with friendly hospitality, so glad we stayed here rather than in Hebdon.

I went for the 'continental breakfast' as the description of the cooked breakfast was limited - bacon, fried egg (only), bread, salad and vinegar. The toast and cereals were fine, not a great breakfast, but something to start the day.

Location could not be better and I recommend anyone considering staying in Hebden Bridge to come this 1 mile further and stay here, such a historic and beautiful place. The pub is lovely with traditional floors and an amazing range of ales. Good welcome from the host.

Cooked breakfast was a bit odd. Sausages/eggs served with sourdough bread and balsamic dressed salad is not something I’ve encountered before as a “cooked” breakfast.
