Possibly the only minor negative was I don't think it is not possible to come in or out of the property outside pub opening hours - i.e. no separate external door for guests. This didn't bother us at all as we didn't need/want to!

The room was beautifully clean and had all the things you could hope for. There was also a little landing space with books to borrow. The location was beautiful and we went for a walk before excellent pub meal before getting to bed. We needed to leave fairly early to get to a music competition and there was no problem, the owner was up at 7:30am and made wonderful cooked breakfasts. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a countryside place to stay overnight.

The age and appearance first attracted me. I love old stuff. The entire property is beautiful, the room, the restaurant, the menu, everything. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

The mattress on beds a bit hard for us! But can't please everyone!

There was no car park there, but off the road parking was fine. The television in the empty room next to me was turned on at 7ish in the morning and was really noisy. The ceiling light was also having the emergency light function - even if I switched it off, the room was still a little bright - like moon light coming straight in… that it was really difficult for me to sleep - I’m the kind of person needs absolutely dark.

The facility was really nice and the staff there was also really welcoming. It’s located in a quiet village and close to Huddersfield town centre. The decoration and the overall atmosphere was amazing!

Lovely pub in a beautiful location, ideal for our visit to a concert in Holmfirth. The staff are friendly and welcoming, Richard the landlord is a great host. The food is fantastic, extensive menu and beautifully cooked. Bedroom and bathroom were clean and spacious, the bed was very comfy. Very much enjoyed our stay and we will be back!

Nothing really. There is no on site parking but this was clear in the advert but we easily parked on the street outside the pub.

The rooms had everything we required. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was good. Great breakfast! We ate in the pub in the evening the food was lovely and the pub had a great atmosphere and was very welcoming. Richard, the landlord, was very friendly. Would definitely recommend

This pub was exceptional. Kind friendly staff that went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed and was comfy. The bed was the best bit. So comfortable. Was able to relax and get a good nights rest. The location is very quiet too. The food was beautiful. With an option for a large or small meal. Fantastic value for money.

Curfew of 11pm to get back to hotel !!! Not good 😐 we had a family party and had to leave early .
