How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewGreat location if you're staying in Kowloon. Right beside Jordan Station, and many bus lines. The lady and her family were very kind and helpful.
Small room, but understandable and perfectly acceptable for the price.

Verified reviewA tiny windowless room in a private appartment - fitted with everything you need. Excellent location, 2 mn walk from Jordan MRT. Cheap for Hong Kong.
Hard to find ... On the 5th floor, National Court Sold as a double room, but the bed cannot accomodate two persons
Thank you for your review and for noting the details provided on our website! We’re pleased you found the room well-equipped and the location excellent, just a 2-minute walk from Jordan MRT, at a great price for Hong Kong. We apologize for any difficulty finding National Court on the 5th floor and for any confusion about the bed size, though we’re glad the dimensions are clearly listed. For future guests, we’ll ensure clearer directions and highlight that windowed rooms are available as an option. Thanks for your feedback, and we look forward to welcoming you back!

Verified reviewCan't get a much better location - so central, bus stop and MTR stop both less than a minute's walk away, convenience store in the same building and more down the road. The area is nice too, even as a woman I felt safe to walk around alone at night. Very nice and helpful owner, always super quick to answer any questions. Yeah it's not a huge space, but so what? It's Hong Kong after all; we've stayed in smaller rooms, in worse locations and paid more for it. The value for money is unbeatable in my opinion.
The bed is a bit small, but not uncomfortable. Place was a little hard to find - it's IN the "National Court" courtyard, then up the elevator (not the very back one!) to level 5, then through the door and go to flat B - don't make the mistake we did and try to check into the wrong guest house! (Quite obvious in hindsight, not so obvious when it's late and you're tired after a long flight and bus ride.)

Verified reviewVery clean and at an excellent location. The accomodation is within an old building, so the room and attached toilet are understandably small. However, 3 of us adapted to the compact size very quickly. Every thing functioned well. The owner and his wife were very helpful.

Verified reviewIt was clean and comfortable, great value for money. The location was perfect for exploring the city and I would go to this place once more if I happen to go to Hong Kong again.
You might not fit the double bed if you're a bit taller or bigger.

Verified reviewThe location was very good- Jordan rd and Nathan rd intersection, but it wasn't very noisy. There was air-conditioning even in the lobby downstairs, complete with security guard. Three elevators, clean corridors of the building. The room was very adequate, clean and it was cleaned every day when we were there. The owner was very helpful with recommendations and advice about the bus to the airport.
Nothing, for the price and location it was perfect.

Verified reviewExcellent location and as with everywhere in Hong Kong the space was compact but adequate for a short stay. Very nice staff and well kept clean and tidy. Good WiFi and comfy.
Be prepared to shower over the toilet and move around a small space. But would book again.

Verified reviewA very good option for the center of Hong Kong, the apartment itself is very quiet, there are options with a window (it will be noisy from the street, but you can open the window, I have asthma and therefore need fresh air), there are air conditioners in the rooms, the bathroom is a bit cramped, but you can take a shower. There is a kettle in the room, but for some reason there are no mugs for guests. The apartment itself is in a multi-story building, there are 24-hour 7-Eleven nearby, McDonald's is 150 meters away (good for a quick breakfast).
This is not really a hostel, but rather rooms in an apartment with the owner living there. No mugs for guests.
Thanks for your comment. We have the room with window for customer to choose. We also have to provide the glass in the room. Our Hostel have take the license for that, but our family also stay there, it will be more safety then the other hostel. Thanks for your to share the experience, and hope you have a nice trip in Hong Kong. Hope to see you again.
