An uncomfortable bed -it was small and felt like a water bed when the other person moved. The room was pretty small, there were issues with the toilet. No elevator, you have to bring your luggage yourself - luckily we did not have heavy suit cases.

It's about a 15min walk to the Temple area. Clean, fresh bedsheets. Tea & coffee in the room.

Neighbourhood dirty and noisy, ensuite could do woith some mainetance eg broken towel rail, trim broken. No separate fire escape from 3rd floor.

Early check in, location near city centre, easy to find and access.

Room could have been a little bit bigger for the price that it was (although we did book very last minute so cannot complain). Good enough if you need a bed, shower and some privacy!

Location was decent but be mindful it can be a bit rough. Enjoyed being close enough to central Dublin (10-15 minute walk to Temple Bar area - depending on where you wanted to go). For further experiences (like Botanical Gardens) a long walk or Uber (if you wanted to get somewhere quicker) however plenty of shops and restaurants/takeaways a few minutes walk away. Staff were pleasant and it was greatly appreciated!

No lift and i was on top (4th) floor! (Its a converted victorian house which is fine, but needs more work, e.g. threadbare carpets). Reception was open 24 hours but very basic, not what you would call friendly, and no offer to help with bags. Very small simplistic reception area. No catering offered, not even a basic breakfast, and no vending/water machines. (this was a shame as there were wonderful aromas coming from what i think was a domestic indian family kitchen) A bit cheaper than some other hotels...Dublin is ridiculously expensive...but i still didnt feel it was value for money. I should have booked a proper hotel, or indeed a Bed&Breakfast, just much earlier to perhaps get better prices. I hate 'bars' of soap in the bathroom as they dry your skin (and its an enviromental waste as they're replaced each day, as was the small shower gel bottle).

Good location north of the river, fairly close to several sites, and easy to find. Very clean room. Helpful cleaning staff. Tea/coffee provided (no biscuits tho!) :( Good clean bathroom with plenty of hot water (tho it was a slow electric shower rather than mains water).

Perhaps we got a little unlucky getting a room at the top floor. We are able-bodied young adults, so this was not an issue for us, but there is no elevator available in the building. If you have limited mobility or generally don't wish to climb several flights of stairs to get to your room, you may want to reconsider booking here. The building is pretty old and has no accommodations for people with disabilities. As other people have pointed out, the walls are also pretty thin, so there was some noise from outside and from the hallway. If you're a light sleeper, consider bringing earmuffs.

Some of the reviews I read on here made this place out to be hell incarnate—this could not be further from the truth. The staff were very friendly, the rooms comfortable, the price incredibly competitive. We stayed at the lodge for four days and encountered little out of the ordinary. I've seen people complain about the neighborhood, but really—did you expect some upscale Beverly Hills location at this price? And yes, there are some homeless people around the area. If that somehow brings the hotel into disfavor for you, perhaps you should reflect on why exactly that is the case. Our room was cleaned every day, towels and shower facilities refreshed, toilet paper restocked. Check-in and check-out went incredibly smoothly. Staff was available 24/7. Overall, this ended up being a surprisingly enjoyable experience for a price unmatched by any other hotel in the area (in the middle of the city center, a five-minute walk away from Trinity College!).

No lift, so be warned. I was at the top floor and was struggling to carry my luggage up all the flights of stairs and almost fell quite a few times coming back down when leaving because the stairs are very narrow. However, this isnt the fault of the owner, it is just an old building. The walls were also paper thin so you can hear everything going on in the rooms around you. The window was also quite open and accross the road was construction so I was woken up quite early morning by the banging of the construction. Oh and no air-conditioning. Which is common in ireland... but in the summer my gosh it gets tough without it.

Lovely staff, very clean! Was also spacious enough. It is also walking distance to anywhere you want for the heart of dublin. Pubs, O'Connell right at your door stop as well as restaurants. Whatever you need. Staff were more than happy to help you out whenever you needed.

Electric socket by the bed wasn’t screwed back properly so isn’t that safe. Door to the room doesn’t lock from the inside due to lock catching on the wall. Bottom of the shower screen wasn’t attached so a little unsafe

The cost was quite high for the room. The room was very basic and also you could see through the bottom of the room window, so I had to place towels there to block it, also the bathroom is not private because there is a window with no blinds, and the outside looks like a dump yard. The noise was also not too great.

It was okay, but should have been cheaper.

We had 3 adults for 5 days in a small room. We had to ask for extra supplies eg toilet paper and towels for the room, and every single day we asked for our bin to be emptied and the room cleaned. Staff assured us each time that it would happen but it never did, not once. The curtains were mouldy and the general cleanliness in the hallways etc left much to be desired.

The location is great- a short walk to shops, museums, transport, the river, everything you need is nearby.
