Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesJust a heads up if you are allergic to cats, the cat is very long-haired. Very sweet, calm cat, but understandably there will be some cat hair in the main areas. I saw a few spiders, but they were the harmless kind.
Beautiful, quiet location. Very kind and responsive host. Room perfect for one person and more spacious than I'd thought. Check-in instructions very clear. Lovely neighborhood not far from the beach, bus stops and DART stop. Nearby park has a farmers' market every Sunday and that was a nice place for lunch.

It was very clean and comfortable. In addition, the host was very helpful. It is quite close to the Dublin bus stop and also to the Aircoach stop.

United KingdomThere is a cat and I am allergic ..maybe it should say there is a cat in the house. Apart from that I have no complaints at all.
As a female travelling alone, i felt this was a very safe location, and despite it being 11pm and then 5am, I still felt safe walking to and from the house. Very lovely lady! She was very patient and accommodating when I was late for check-in. I didn't use the kitchen or shower in the end, but the facilities were all clean and available to use if needed. Will definitely use again!

United KingdomThe apartment is in a gated community, maybe difficult to get your car in if the owner misses your phone call.
An excellent place, very close to Sandymount DART station for easy access to Dublin City Centre (a 9 minute ride only). The property was very clean and good parking within the estate. The surrounding neighbourhood is beautiful with many embassies.

United KingdomThe cat should be disclosed in the description for people who have allergies or just don't like cats. For the price in this economy, I can't really complain, but you might want a hotel if you need constant internet access, heating, or want a higher standard of hygiene.
Comfy place that's reasonably accessible, but it's just a spare room. The host is lovely, but very present.

United StatesWhat is difficult for a foreign visitor is how to find the property. Owner gives good instructions but the FREENOW app sent my cabdriver somewhere different. He eventually found it with the help of the owner, but it was an expensive cab ride. Worse yet, my cab out never arrived. I got good instruction from a neighbor to walk to the main road and hail a cab. That suggestion saved the day. None of this is owner’s fault, but can be a cautionary tale for someone else.
I had a tour starting the next day in Dublin. There were no available and reasonably priced accommodation in the city because of the Taylor Swift concert. This was a haven for me. I had come in on the red eye and was very jet lagged. The owner provided a clean quiet atmosphere that helped greatly. It was all I needed.

Isle of ManLocation not easy to find as map online is not clear and directions from owner needed to be set in the wider context of the neighbourhood. Partly the fault of too many similar names in the locality but even the taxi driver could not find it correctly. Being where it is, it was a minimum 10-15 walk to any shop / cafe restaurant from which to buy food or have a meal. The apartment itself is very small; the owner and her cat also live there so one did not feel free to venture around the living room as against stay in the bedroom. As I was only there literally over night this did not create too much of a problem but would have been for a longer stay. Only tea and coffee provided for breakfast but as i was going early I could not have eaten in any event. While the inital price of £70 seemed to be about the least expensive around, it turned hefty when a substantial cleaning cost was added to that and therefore for an overnight place to sleep did not constitute value for money.
Location was in a very posh part of Dublin and was very quiet after trains stopped running 11-12pm. Host friendly. Bedroom and bathroom very clean but as kitchen also used by owner that was less so.

Stayed for one night on way to a concert in Belfast, a lovely apartment, the entrance is from garden, which gave it such charm. Host is great, quietly friendly. The area is quiet yet handy for Ballsbridge bistros & pubs & the cafes of Sandymount village. My first visit to Dublin & I want to go back.

RomaniaFor a visitor is really a trial to find the house. So, thanks to taxi driver from airport, I could arrive to her address. But even the taxi driver could not find so easy. Being where it is, it was a minimum 15 min. walk to any shop / cafe restaurant to get food. For me was impossible to walk that distance, having invalidity - so, I bought in my first day some food for mornings, going with a taxi. The apartment itself is very small; the room for rent is just a small spare room; the owner and her cat also live there so one did not feel free to venture around the living room as against stay in the bedroom. It is mention a TV in presentation, but not for guests, only for host who was looking to asiatic movies each evening. So I was only there literally over night and 2-3 hours in the morning, during 1 week; but if I would have been for a longer stay, I should have dislike to stay because of the feeling that I am not welcome to stay there. She was patient when I arrived late from airport, for check-in for accommodation. Instead, when I left, although my plane was again late in the night, she asked me to leave at 11 o' clock in the morning, so my single solution was to stay in the yard on a chair still 3 hours and in the end, I decided to leave, to have access to bath and to get a coffee. The internet on my mobile did n' t work in Ireland, only with wifi in her house or some other buildings; also, I could not make phone calls. I have Rheumatoid arthritis and therefore, I have big pains in my joints. So, it is a real trial for me to walk. Having problems with my phone, I was not able to call a taxi, and she had not the smallest drop of empathy in my last day, to call a taxi for airport. I had to walk a lot (maybe 800 m or more?) with heavy (for me) luggage towards the mean street, for that. So, imagine how tired and in pain I was after almost 24 hours without sleep or laying, staying only on a chair. Never in my life I had such of experience!
Not even tea and coffee provided for breakfast, so I got mine from a shop using that. Almost daily I was going in Center of Dublin for a Congress, so I tried my best to solve my problem with food, in town. Dublin is a beautiful town, and I met a lot of kind and friendly Irish people. The house is situated in a nice area, with parks and clean, and this is the plus found.

CanadaI visited Dublin from Canada to attend a week-long conference at UCD. I had a perfect stay there. Mon, the host is a very kind, friendly, and respectful person. I felt like I was at "home" and not a hotel. It was Quiet, clean, and comfortable, and most importantly, a very warm and welcoming vibe. The location is lovely. You can easily access the bus stations to go to the city center. It is safe and in a guarded complex. I am in general an easygoing person, but I do not always rate perfect for a place. But for Mon's home, I would absolutely recommend it. It is a perfect option. I can not make a single complaint about that. Trust me and go for it without any second thoughts.
