A firmer bed pillow or two more would be a plus - otherwise nothing to criticise.

We really enjoyed our 4 x nights at Gort Lodge on the edge of Portmagee. House contained everything for a comfortable stay - including tumble dryer, which was a bonus. Great views looking over the water to Valentia Island. Would highly recommend.

Great location, near the Portmagee bridge to Valentia island. Also close to the Portmagee marina, for boat trips to the Skelligs. Great views and the owner couldn't have been more helpful. We really enjoyed our stay.

Great house with lovely views of the sea and Valentia Island. A very short drive from Portmagee, which is a charming small fishing village where you can eat exceptionally fresh seafood. The house is very clean and spacious, very well equipped. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets. Host gave us all the necessary information and kept in touch during our stay.

Clean and comfortable. Location perfect for Portmagee, Valentia Island and Cahersiveen and surrounding areas. Particularly liked that the master bedroom was ensuite. Keys easily retrieved in the lock box.

Exit from property into traffic is difficult but easily rectified by replacing the mirror at the exit or placing the mirror across the road.

The house was very homely for a rental property. Fully stocked, beautiful sea views, very quiet.

The location of property is fantastic. You can get a really beautiful sunset while enjoying a nice cold beer (or a hot drink) relaxing at the outside picnic table. All the utilities that you need from a house are present there. The sharing fish platter at Fisherman's Bar & Skellig Restaurant Portmagee was fantastic; especially after a trip to Kerry Cliffs (Aillte Chiarraí).

Unfortunately the heating broke when we arrived...cottage was 10°c...we left and stayed at the moorings....landlord had heating fixed the next and he did offer us a stay free of charge....he refunded all our money....these things happen...and had it been summer it would be perfect..

All the nice amenities are useless if we don’t know how to turn them on! There was no welcome guide or notebook with instructions. There was noone to call to ask either! Arriving and not being able to find anything, take showers, etc. felt very unwelcoming. Actually, neither shower ever worked right. Also, the living room needs reading lights. And the hedges need trimming so we can drive it safely. It’s very dangerous now.

Fairly well outfitted and comfortable overall, if you can figure it all out. Beautiful view too.

Had to drive everywhere, not really in walking distance, check out not clear with the cleaner, she arrived early, so was a rush then to get out while she sat in her car outside waiting, some of the facilities mentioned were missing, WiFi not great or tv channels very limited. Would definitely bring your own food

Gort lodge was a nice bungalow, 3 nice bedrooms Sitting room was nice , kitchen facing the back with a lovely view

The property is so damp we all came home sick. The heating never worked. The hot water was hit and miss. Trying to exit the property in a car is dangerous because of the overgrown hedge both sides of the exit. We would not recommend this property.
