Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainThe apartament was just ok. We paid for a single bedroom with shared bathroom and that is what we got. Now there was just only one bathroom for all guests (besides a little toilett with no bathroom) and it was just too small. You are supposed to take a shower and get dressed in the bathroom when it is shared, and they are usually bigger when that is the case. There was no place in the bathroom to, at least, place a chair to put your clothes. The house is old, which could be charming and cozy but they didn't bother to modernize the rooms, at least, a bit. There is potential to do something better without spending tons of money. The place is supposed to be "cheap" because of the demand, now I had stayed at a 3-star hotel localated in the city town the night before for the same price...
Location: 15/20 minutes from city center and very well connected (lots of buses taking you there). The área is also good, there are many places to get a gourmet breakfast just around the corner and even cool bars in the neighbourhood. Recommended for a "local night"

NetherlandsToilets struggle to flush and therefore clog easily, could be cleaner and you do hear every single thing that happens throughout the property. Also poorly isolated temperature wise,, so bring blankets or cozy pajamas.
Definitely doable if you're only there to sleep (beds are decently comfortable and clean enough far as we noticed) but can't recommend it.

IrelandAt this price it's hard to have high expectations so there's nothing to complain about.
Very good location. Warm, dry and clean. No smell and no bugs. I felt safe. Thumbs up from me.

United KingdomThe place could use some maintenance. The door near the shower room has rot and needs replacement. The cooker isn’t working, but the oven is functional, so I’m still able to cook my meals.
The property is in a fantastic location, within walking distance to the city center. The room itself is spacious, offering plenty of comfort.

United Kingdom• Wallapaper ripped in places & very grubby. • Skirting all over the room very grubby. • Used contact lenses on night stand from I'm assuming previous tenant which indicates room was not cleaned thoroughly between use. • Bottom of bed/mattress mouldy. • Bed advertised as double but both me and partner had our feet hanging off the edge & bruised hips from abrasive springs inside mattress. • Shared bathroom has urine on seat every single time we used it (not an issue with property as such, more just other tenants at the time) • Bathroom area full of mould & rotting. I would definitely advertise this property as more of a bedsit/hostel, not Holiday Home.
The location is excellent. Very central & close to shops, modes of transport & city centre. Very easy to come & go from using front door keypad. Owner was very informative in email correspondence about popular tourism attractions & explained meticulously how to get everywhere using public transport.

UkraineI found a hairdryer on the second day. You can leave a list of where to look for an iron and hair dryer in the room. The microwave did not do. There are not room slippers for staying in the hotel. You must always walk in your shoes. You can provide coffee to the guests. There is not enough usb charging for the phone in the room.
I walk to the center in 15-20 minuets.

United KingdomVery limited space for ie. Refrigerated foods, some of the guests leaving the kitchen back door open/unlocked in the night. Also, no entertainment for guests, considering it being used for holidays, maybe would be worth having at list a TV screen in rooms as visitors can not be travelling with their screens to watch TV, especially those with kids. Apart from that, good accommodation a d simple.
The environment and location were just perfect for our visit...right in the city and a walking distance to the city centre. Considering the type of accommodation, it was worth the price.

SpainThe stay was acceptable and the accommodation ok, the only downside were two Italian tenants who spent the whole stay in Dublin being a nuisance, making noise at late hours and smoking joints thinking the whole house was theirs with no respect for the rest of the guests.

Brazilthe second bed on room 1 was extremely uncomfortable and the room itself was extremely cold, and there was no way of turning on the heating. I asked to turn on the heating and they told me to do it on the kitchen, and it JUST DOESN’T WORK. Heating on a country like that its not luxury, it’s necessary.
The access to the city center is very easy, and there is a market and a supermarket very very easy, and both of bathrooms were great, and the price for Dublin is great.

SwedenThe one really annoying bit was that the hobs in the kitchen (great plus otherwise!) just did not work. We tried cooking on them several times but got a lukewarm uncooked disaster after an hour. At least there were a microwave, kettle and fridge. It was a bummer though because we had counted on cooking at the house. Beyond that, the room we booked with a shared bed for 2 people had no space left to move beside the bed really, so not cozy to stay in during the day - but we managed fine for our 4 days spent outside of the house, it was a bit crammed (also on the bed, you have to be comfortable being close when not travelling as a couple) but doable. I understand there are other bigger rooms in the house, which is also basically like a flatshare. Before we arrived I didn't believe it was happening for a bit - the initial contact message after my booking over booking.com was very swift, friendly and informative. But we had to fill in a long detailed form, upload our passports (which I always hesitate to give out) and were then promised a code. The code didn't arrive and nobody answered my emails until I called a day before our arrival, where the person picking up the call seemed a bit uncertain about my booking details. I also didn't realise it is several different people working at the house for the owner Brian, several of whom we met when they cleaned (perhaps even more than would be necessary) during the day. After I got the code later that day though it was all very smooth.
Being the cheapest option we could find to stay in expensive Dublin as two students I was quite happy with what we got. The location is not super central but it's walkable distance from the centre and really well connected by public transport, it took us about 10 mins max to get anywhere in town, loved that; and the neighbourhood was calm/busy/safe-feeling enough all at the same time. The house was well cleaned, we were in fact running into the cleaners all the time, I especially appreciated the common bathrooms' upkeep. Bed was comfy, everything we needed was provided (washing machine, kitchen, tea). Check-in was easy enough. I was quite happy overall with the stay.
