Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaCheck-in was confusing as there were no instructions provided, and we had to ask at the attached bar. The bartender was dismissive and not very welcoming, which didn’t create a great first impression (though one of the servers was kind and tried her best to assist). Parking can also be difficult since there’s no dedicated space for guests, and the driveway is usually full. The bedding could use improvement — the fitted sheet didn’t stay in place (woke up sleeping on the mattress), and although I had booked a two-bed room, only the king bed was made up and no extra sheets were provided. Finally, the doors aren’t soundproof, so hallway noise carries easily.
The guesthouse was very clean and well-equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The location was lovely — a quiet, peaceful village right on the beach, which made for a very relaxing atmosphere. It was also very reasonably priced and would be a great option for backpackers or travelers on a budget.

CanadaWe weren't especially well looked after, as you check in at the bar and are pretty much on your own after that. Breakfast wasn't available, with no notice. Noise and disturbance in the night, strangely by the proprietor, moving vehicles and people (!?) Room should have a fan because it was warm.
This small lodge attached to a pub sits right on the seaside, with walking paths out the front door. It's a very beautiful spot.

United KingdomI had to leave very early and a staff member's car blocked me in the car park and I had to squeeze out with an inch each side to play with. Not much fun in a brand new rental.
Lovely beachside apartment — clean, comfortable, with a delicious breakfast and exceptionally friendly staff. Perfect for a relaxing getaway.

United States2 things that would go a long way are blackout curtains (the sun woke us up every morning) and a more comfortable mattress. It was a bit rickety. Parking is also a bit of a free for all, so while yes it’s there — it’s not necessarily reliably easy. All of this said, it was a great stay and value for the money considering competing prices for stays in dingle. Definitely a one of a kind stay!
Gorgeous view, great value for the money, awesome staying above the pub for a night cap

United StatesOur room had a beautiful overlook of the ocean and beach beneath us. The tavern below is closed on Tuesdays so as we were walkers, we had to take a €20 cab to the next village that was open for a meal. Very clean restful place.

IrelandThe mattress protector and bedsheet were too small for the mattress size (the bed is really quite large which I loved), so they kept moving as we turned in the bed. It would've also been lovely to have another chair as there was two of us and perhaps a larger table where we could sit and enjoy the view without going outside or sitting on the bed. A fullbody mirror would've been handy as well.
We've had a lovely stay at The Coastguard house in Ballydavid. They accomodated us despite us running late for more than an hour for our check-in and made us feel welcome. The room called The Three Sisters was simply brilliant with a breathtaking view of the entire peninsula. The nights were extremely quiet so we could enjoy the sound of waves as they crashed against the shore. The room also features a queen-sized bed, perfect for getting rest after a day out boating and hiking. The bathroom is spacious enough and has a large shower cabin. There is also a closet, table, a chair and a kettle, along with complimentary tea, milk, coffee and mugs.

GermanyWe spent two nights at The Coastguard House and had a great time. It was at early april, and thus no breakfast option yet available, but anything else was fine and it was a hassle-free stay at a wonderful place. Fiona was there at our arrival and she was very nice and welcoming. The rooms are clean and spatious. The small village is a rugged place, beautiful and wild, and the place fits perfectly. We slept well and came and went as we liked. Parking wasn't an issue either, there were spots directly at the house or close by. The view is incredible, and the beach is extremely scenic. So, for a Dingle experience with a bit of "remote" feeling (though you are inside the small village, not alone), that is perfect. As a bonus, and we cannot thank Fiona enough for that (!!!!), we did forget a jacket at the appartement upon early departure and Fiona sent it to us later on. That was extremely kind, and beyond the overall kindness we did experience anywhere in Ireland (being such a wonderful place). If we'll return we sill certainly check againt the Coastguard House as a starting point for Dingle. It was 10-15 min driving to Dingle, really not more, and eating out in Dingle was no issue, while profiting from that true west coast rugged gem directly at the beach.

AustraliaIt didn’t occur to me this was backpacker style accomodation (that’s on me) but saying that I had my own room and bathroom above the pub and away from the shared section. Albeit keep in mind there is really no soundproofing between the 4 rooms that are above the pub. While quite clean, when you looked a little closer at skirting boards and behind furniture, the place could do with a dust. I expected the restaurant to be open even though it is clearly described as seasonal I wasn’t told it was still shut for another week. The location is gorgeous if you really want to get away from it all but just know to get food or have a wander in town, Dingle is a 15 minute drive on classic Irish roads where, twice in my two day stay, I had to pull up for cows and then horses. Part of the fun of course if you’re not in a hurry.
Sheets and towels were good quality. Great price tag when compared to other options. Great view from bedroom window. The bathroom was clean and the shower was hot with decent pressure.

United KingdomFrom the moment we arrived, we found everybody to be warm and welcoming. The room was comfortable and warm and the view and the sound of the sea just outside the window were what we wanted and expected. Sean and Fiona were great hosts and answered any questions we had about local bus times restaurants et cetera. Ronan the barman was great company and a pleasure to meet. Mary, the housekeeper, couldn’t do enough (and a great singer too!).

United StatesWiFi wasn't good. Spotty at best. Had to drive into Dingle to get breakfast. Power went out but that was true for a large area. Not the owner's fault. Limited parking.
Beautiful views and good hiking. King sized bed. Restaurant for dinner downstairs. Bus to take you into Dingle. Cost on the website said 1.5 euro but we were charged 2.5 euro.
