Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandWe thought it was a 5 minute walk from Kilorglin but with the footpath stopping short at least 600 yards and it also being most likely a 10 minute walk it would be treacherous to attempt to walk especially at nighttime
It was a nice clean place to stay.

United KingdomNormally I prefer to have tea and coffee facilities in the room, but actually, the kitchen area was just a short walk down the stairs and there is a range of drinks and snacks - coffee machine, a variety of teas plus croissants and pastries, freely available. That made up for it!
Kerry is known as 'The Kingdom' and the name of the property has regal overtones. When you enter, the main lobby certainly makes a very good impression, a little bit palatial but also homely. There's a royal coat of arms over the fireplace. The room was very good, with comfortable beds and a well-appointed bathroom. The breakfast - included in the price - was actually better than in a lot of hotels, where you pay a heavy price for a heavy breakfast. Here, there was cereal, toast, jam, butter and as much tea, coffee and fruit juice as you like. The staff member on duty was very friendly and she spoke with a wonderful Kerry accent. The location is very nice, next to the River Laune, close to the magnificent attractions of County Kerry.

AustraliaThe bread with mould that was out for breakfast on our second morning and when we told the staff member then we were told there was no more bread available. This was poor service.
Location was quiet and comfortable. Meeting and talking with other guests in the room adjacent to tea and coffee facilities.

PhilippinesI like how peaceful it is, plus it is walkable to the town centre. They are very responsive in my inquiries too. Breakfast is lovely and the staff are helpful and friendly. They have a mini nook for snacks too and could easily refill my water bottle through the water jar in a station near the rooms. It was a very sunny Killorglin during my stay, and it could get really hot at night. So i'd suggest perhaps a fan may be available in the room for the guest's use too. But overall, it was a lovely experience and would definitely rebook this place when I go back to Killorglin.

United KingdomVery impersonal, we didn’t meet anyone, lady at breakfast didn’t say anything….were unaware of coffee & tea facilities downstairs…so just assumed there wasn’t any, as none in the room, also no cups/glasses in the room! A little dated, especially the bathroom!
Location, set in lovely grounds! Comfy beds! Breakfast was adequate, self serve continental.

United StatesWe were there during a heat wave, which is no fault of the property; but we were unable to keep the curtains closed and get any breeze during the night. The window on one side would only open about an inch because of climbing flowers and ivy, which did look beautiful from the outside.
The location of the lodge was very private, easy to get to from the main road. The breakfast room was nice with lots of options to sit or take and go. The bathtub in my room was spectacular! We reserved two rooms and the bathrooms were different, but both were very nice. Host was not on property, but very responsive to messages during our stay.

CanadaI can only say this is my fault - w\I was hopeful form previous reviews that breakfast would be available however that is no longer the case - I didn't read my booking properly so that is entirely my fault. Alex - oil the hinges on the doors that lead to the bedrooms down the hall on the main floor - LOL :)
Our host - Alex, was very knowledgeable about the area and was extremely welcoming. The room was very comfortable and had a wicked strong shower. Location was peaceful and convenient to other towns. My little patio would have been lovely if the weather was warmer. The grounds are lovely.

United StatesThis is a larger lodge and the host is the only person there. Therefore breakfast is no longer offered. The lodge needs some updating and TLC.
The host, Alex(non owner) was absolutely fabulous. She was a wealth of information on the surrounding area for places to eat and places to see, giving great advice on tips for where to go depending on weather etc.
