Nothing I didn't like, really, but I do think it is quite expensive for a shared bathroom. There was complimentary tea, hot chocolate, but no coffee. My fault for not reading the booking; they do not say they provide any of that, so it is good that you got something. My comment is that it is really far away from anything, and the road is more or less a track off the main road. So it would have taken a significant amount of time to go and get some, so I did without.

Nice remote guesthouse, rooms were good, and facilities were good. We never saw any staff, but there are key locks to get the key to your room and to be fair, it's not a bad thing. They left a freshly-made waffle for every guest, which was a nice touch.

our room door was warped so we had to pull hard and slam it to open and close. bathroom got humid after each person showered and took a long time to become dry again. Location was pretty remote which was good and not so good at the same time.

We loved the location, beautiful views, glacial river and short walk up the hill for beautiful views. Kitchen was well equipped and we cooked 2 nights in the apartment which was a nice contrast to the eating out all the other nights.

The property is located in a beautiful farm surrounded by moss covered lava field, there are river, waterfalls in walking distance. The shared dining/living area are very home warm. I love the homemade waffles and strawberry jam the host provided daily.

a separate toilet from the bathroom would be ideal, (its all in one bathroom/shower/ toilet and shared with other guests however we were surprisingly never inconvenienced by the shared bathroom

There's a little bit of noise from neighboring apartments and the main guest house but nothing major. No laundry facilities nearby but we hand washed things to hang outside on the private deck to dry..

Off the beaten path in a scenic and beautiful location with rushing waterfalls, moss covered lava fields, small play area for younger children next to some interesting historical turf houses, horses at the farm next door, and oystercatchers guarding the bridge :). We stayed at the two bedroom apartment which was very spacious for our family of four, and we made several meals in the well stocked kitchen. Kirkjubaejarklaustur is about 15 min drive away for gas and groceries (but we picked up groceries in Vik on our way there). In early July when we went there was enough daylight to walk around the nearby waterfalls and bridge at midnight and enjoy beautiful golden hour light.it was a great place to spend a couple of nights after the sights near Vik and the Jokusarlon glacier lagoon.

The walls in my room were quite thin and I could hear the conversation of a group of people staying in the room next to me. I wish that the quiet hours were more strictly enforced or that the rooms were better soundproofed.

Bathroom floors are very slippery with the shower on the tile.

The location is unusual in that it’s 3 miles through the lava field to get there. It’s located in a secluded spot overlooking grazing sheep and a black sand lava river with a waterfall.

The guesthouse is in quite a rural location about 5km off the main road, and driving f to it takes you through some of the amazing volcanic landscape. It is very well maintained, clean and the home made waffles waiting for us when we arrived went down well :-). Just a pity we only had a very short 1 night stay as I’d loved to have explored the area around the guesthouse.

The rooms were clean, warm, and very comfortable. The kitchen was also well stocked with the basics for cooking meals. And the surrounding environment was spectacular and great for night-sky viewing. Highly recommend if you want to see sites on the southeast coast.
