How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Nothing - it was all wonderful.
Location was perfect. Apartment was cozy, modern, and well kept. Our hostess Guðrún was very nice, providing us a warm welcome along with spot-on recommendations for food and activities. Would visit again without hesitation and recommend it to anyone looking for a home base in the area.

Waffles, jams and cream cheese were prepared and waiting for us to have for breakfast. Location in VIK was close to shops and restaurants. Also easy access for day trips to glaciers, beaches and waterfalls.

I stayed at Guesthouse Galleri Vík for two nights (Oct 12–14) and had a wonderful experience. The hostess was very kind and welcoming, and her homemade cake, jam, and cheese were truly delicious. Everything was cozy and heartfelt, and it made me want to come back again. Highly recommended!

The only thing I would comment on is some of the furniture was not comfortable. The beds were very hard and so was the sofa but that would not keep us from staying again!
This property is very quant and a short walk to some of the nice restaurants in town and the Lava Show. The apartment had 2 bedrooms which was nice for us to have more room. I liked how the apartment was decorated and Gudrun, the host, was so nice! She left us homemade jam, butter, cookies, and waffle batter which we enjoyed! We had everything we needed and would stay here again!

The unit is compact but very homely. It was nice to arrive with candles already lit. The owner Guldron spoilt us with fresh waffle mix and home made jam for breakfast each day. Highly recommended

Nothing, the host managed the place well and our group enjoyed our stay.
The apartment was well furnished, clean, and in a good location with free parking. The host was quite friendly and left us homemade jam, cheese, and waffle-mix in case we got hungry. Would say this is a proper BnB.

It would be perfect if the bathroom size can be a little bit bigger.
The house was clean and well decorated. The host was very helpful providing a lot of information we need, such as restirants, gas stations and activities that were popular in the local. The beds were comfortable. The house's located on the hill wherr you can see the whole town. Nice location.

We had a wonderful time here. Gudrun is such a warm and friendly person. We were surprised with delicious waffle batter and jam. The apartment is very well equipped, absolutely nothing is missing, and everything was very clean. We felt very comfortable and would come back again. We wish Gudrun all the best.

Our holiday was incredibly enjoyable, especially thanks to our stay in this lovely and quaint house (the bed were so soft and comfortable), and the breakfast that was offered by our host was delicious (like, hello? Waffles? Amazing!) The host was very kind and hospitable and, if we’ll ever go back to Vik, we’ll definitely know where to stay!

I usually do not give the highest rating, but this accommodation deserves it. Beautiful and clean apartment in a quiet location provided us with everything we needed. Beds were comfortable, nice bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. But the best of all is the amazing host Gudrum, who prepared us waffle dough, homemade jam and the best cheese with bacon, which we still can't forget. I highly recommend this apartment and thank you very much for the beautiful place to stay in Vík.

Our host was amazing. The guesthouse was a great little place that was in town and made walking to grab a bite to eat or visit the beach easy. I would recommend staying here!
