Quiet at night

Very dirty

A cosy guesthouse with everything you need, easy to check-in and out, communicative host, and a convenient location

The fact that there was a kitchen. Place was clean.

Not a single hook or clothes hanger, neither in the bathrooms. Kitchen layout not suitable for 6 individual rooms, access to cooker only from one end of the kitchen table.. ok for one whole group but not for individual travellers. Leaking porch, draughty windows.all interiors very worn and threadbare - which wouldn't t matter in a hostel situation, but not if one pays out 75 Euro per night. Pre arrival arrangements confusing and insufficient.

It’s a nice place to stay — just what you can expect for the money. Everything is old and has a personal touch, butit’s clean and well equipped.

The bathroom, especially the shower, could use some renovation.

booked heidi guesthouse way in advance since may for a september trip, however when we reached the accommodation and the Owner told us that the accommodation was fully booked. they also stated that it was the fault of booking.com as the platform allowed the double booking and offered no recovery services. they also told us to settle the refund ourselves via booking.com. we ended up dragging our luggage out and having to find another accommodation for the night at 11pm. utterly disappointed in the accommodation and booking.com. avoid this accommodation at all cost.

There is a grass garden in the property, and it is out of the village. The view is good and the house is an old house, that you can meet the old Icelandic architecture.

When we arrived on the property, we didn't know which room is ours. There was nobody to help us. Actually, there is no staff there. There is a veranda with chairs and a table, but it is dirty and unkept. There is only 1 shower, although there are 6 rooms in total, with 12 or more (I don't know) guests. Also in the dining room, there is not enough space for all guests and you have to wait for a free space. In our room, there was only one socket.

Location and kitchen was well equipped. Price was good.

Beds and poor linen. Only one shower for 8 or 9 people is not enough. Doors were very noisy, disturbing your sleep when people come in late.

The upper bathroom was a bit "old". To go to the shower you need to pass the kitchen.

Guesthouse location is good: near the Golden Circle. Price obviously is competitive and reasonable (as opposed to other Icelandic guesthouses and hotels, that are extremely overpriced). Good equipped kitchen and we liked the idea of the traditional decorated house. It almost seems if the owners still live there.

I can confirm previous reviews: 1) We didn't receive the promised check-in information beforehand. Although the host responded rather quickly to or inquiry, it still rises the stress levels and I don't like that during my holiday. 2) The house is in need of some maintenance to make it (a lot) better: paint job for the wood, a good chalk/residu removal in the shower, new taps/equipment for the shower to enhance the experience. Seems to me a small investment for a much better experience.

The pillow was too soft but fortunately they had two.

Liked the feel of an authentic Icelandic home

Cute little place very near fredheimar and hrunalaug. The house was clean and warm We enjoyed our stay. Thank you for having us

Location is fine

Dirty, broken and smelly shower, only one for 2 floors. The bathroom upstairs was full of dust. Old fry pans, hard to close the window
