I bought a frozen pizza at the local grocery store and there was no oven to cook it in, that I saw... may have overlooked it in the shared kitchen. But its no big deal.. fish and chips from the local food truck are delicious!!!

The riverfront view was beautiful 😍! I couldn't find the email with check in instructions, but someone was on-site and was very helpful with checking in 😁, turns out the instructions were on a message in this app. This area is great for fishing, easily walk from your cabin right to the river, although I didn't have time to partake this trip, I will when I return. Ægissíðufoss waterfall is just down the road and also very close to the American Schoolbus Cafe and Caves of Hella. Definitely will stay here again!

The only downside was a trash bag left outside our room, which slightly spoiled the otherwise perfect experience.

Riverfront Lodge in Hella is a lovely place surrounded by nature, just a few steps from a small river. There’s a shared kitchen available for guests, where breakfast is also served — it was included in our stay. Our room was cozy, though a bit small, and the same goes for the bathroom. The beds were separate, but that wasn’t really an issue. Communication with the host was excellent, and the atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. And the best part — we got to see the Northern Lights right from there! Truly unforgettable.

The door lock is stiff and complicated to lock, we struggled with the lock quite a lot. We had only one toilet paper roll and ran out in the middle of the night without any place to restock, but when we asked the staff for more in the morning they were happy to supply.

The room was clean and comfortable. Very basic, but included all of the needed facilities. The staff is very lovely.

Mirror in the toilet was not in front of the sink but on the wall at the back of the sink, which is an awkward position. Just a minor gripe though, no major inconvenience.

Clean linen and room, sufficient furniture and room equipment. They even provided a coffee machine with two coffee capsules and tea bags. Sufficient available parking. Nice and comfortable beds and pillows. Easy self-service check in and check out with prompt and clear instructions.

Walls were quite thin. Could hear talking and snoring from other guests. Breakfast starts at 8.15 which meant we were rushed on one day as we had a trip booked.

A bit uncomfortable eating breakfast when seated right next to host working on his laptop and on the phone. Like much of Europe tight quarters in room when trying to lay out luggage.

Coffee machine was broken (and only one pod each provided), breakfast is quite late (8:15-9:30) so had to skip it, fridge had been unplugged so couldn't keep supplies cool, car park quite tight if all lodges booked so need to park closely, water is only lukewarm, lock on lodge very very difficult to open and close (took multiple minutes each time as so stiff).

Good sized room in a convenient and quiet location just off the ring road. Nicely decorated with good views over the river - great for bird watching in summer.

Our room felt like they had started doing it up and not finished it. The wardrobes had no hanging poles or shelves. This didn’t matter to us as only there one night. The room was lovely just odd with the wardrobes
