The location is really convenient in the centre of Höfn, near the restaurants and the port. The self check-in was easy and the room was warm and cosy. Totally recommend!

Exceeded our expectations. Seamless check-in with easy to follow instructions prior to arrival. The house is cosy, comfortable and has everything you'll need for a short stay. Our room had a private bathroom which was great, and the shared spaces (kitchen and dining) were clean, quiet and functional. Location was very easy to find in a quiet area with plenty of free parking!

Nothing to do with the guesthouse but it would have been great if a fellow traveller hadn't stolen our groceries from the shared fridge! Luckily we noticed before heading off to our next, remote, location. Don't do this, people!

Generously sized rooms, spotlessly clean, and a lovely ambience. Probably the nicest guesthouse we stayed in during our trip, and very reasonably priced. The sitting area is very pleasant and the coffee machine is a nice bonus. This place just has a very welcoming feel and we were very comfortable here.

This stay had the best value out of all of our locations on the Ring Road. We had a private bathroom with a small TV and the shared quarters were clean. They had a laundromat on the location for an extra charge if you needed it. And it's within walking distance to several restaurants. Doors had a keypad, so you didn't have to worry about keeping up with a key.

Problems with lock. Senior citizens found the stairway difficult for upstairs rooms. Tight bathroom but no worse than many other places.

Great location near downtown Hofn, waterfront and restaurants. Great espresso machine in common area. Nice Kitchen in common area. Very clean. Board games in common area.

The stairs to the upper floor are very narrow, which makes it hard to carry a suitcase up and down (for fairness, it was mentioned in the place description). The owner mentioned that they intend to expand the stairway!

If you're looking for a nice, inviting, clean guesthouse, in a central place, with plenty of (free) parking, and a welcoming atmosphere, then Guesthouse Mikael is definitely the place for you! We stayed in a few guesthouses in Iceland, and this one is by far better. Nice and clean full kitchen, nice and clean dining room, relatively large rooms, with your own great shower and toilet (not obvious in guesthouse). Oh... and all this at a very decent price! Just by a chance, we met with the owner (and her sister), and had a nice chat. Well, it seems that if the owner is a nice person, the facility is a nice one as well. Thanks (sorry, can't pronounce her name...) :)
