This is more of a hotel with an available refrigerator and hot water kettle for all to share. It would have been decent had it not been for the very impolite staff member who barked at me at 7am to leave my room, for his convenience, as he wanted to clean it at that hour. His manner is not suitable for paying international guests. The space in which to eat is very small and dark. Some of the rooms are facing the street, which has nightly live music starting at 10 pm and going into the night. The property is not manned by a receptionist, so you should have an Italian SIM card to call when you arrive. I did not, and the neighbors were not helpful in assisting me in calling the owner. Reggio Calabria is expensive, so this is the most economic option if you want to experience this lovely seaside town.
You can walk from the train station to this hotel. The rooms were spacious and the wi-fi was strong, which is not always a given in Italy. There is a shared refrigerator and kettle.

Great location. Easy to find. Plenty of eateries nearby. There is also a largish Spar supermarket around the corner. A nice cake shop over the road. We booked 5 beds and arrived to find only 4, but this was quickly rectified by the owner. Beds very comfy. The kitchenette has a kettle, a microwave and 2 hairdryers, but not much else. The building is very quirky ( in a good way) and the ceilings were the highest i have ever seen.
