Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesHonestly, nothing about this hotel was bad.
Staff were very friendly and inviting. There were laundry machines for free that we really appreciated. The staff kept our room clean and provided fresh towels daily. AC was also available which we desperately needed after staying in Milan and Lake Como where it was still relatively warm during day but only had heating available. The hotel is centrally located. Everything was within a 5-10 minute walk. Room and shower were spacious and bed was so comfortable. Free water bottles were restocked daily. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Florence!!

United StatesNot a big negative but be aware that most Italian B&B’s / hotels air dry their towels, so they are stiff and coarse. Also, typical of most European hotels, they don’t provide wash clothes, we always bring our own. Shampoo and conditioner are limited, or of poor quality.
Excellent location in the heart of old town a block from the Duomo cathedral, and a short walk to museums and other attractions. Convenient parking in Garage Giglio, about 10-minute walk away (€26/day), it’s right before the gate on the left, don’t enter the ZTL like we did. Very friendly host/owner Alessandro, very large room and bathroom with walk-in shower, large comfortable king-size bed and pillows. WIFI, A/C, TV, refrigerator, desk and two luggage racks. Good breakfast at a local café, 2 min. walk, all you can eat buffet with an adequate choice of items.

AustraliaThe fact that our stay came to an end.
The location is second to none; a three minute walk from the Duome, still on a quiet street. Close to restaurants, cafes, shopping and all the things that make Florence such a special place. Alessandro is an exceptional host. From the moment I booked the room he stayed in touch, always available to provide information to make our arrival to Florence easier. When we arrived he made us feel welcome and helped us with whatever requests we had. The facilities have been freshly renovated, it is all imacualate clean and brand new. The room has a lot of space; we had a lot of luggage and never had to squeeze in to manage our bags and belongings while staying at the Dell'Olio.

CanadaNothing everything was great!
Everything about our stay was wonderful — the place was spotless, the rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the location couldn't have been better. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, and the entire staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Special shoutout to Jackson for going out of his way to meet us 30 minutes before his shift so we could drop our bags before our morning tour — truly appreciated! I highly recommend this B&B and would definitely stay again.

United StatesLocation is excellent: steps to the Duomo and walkable to all major attractions and train station. If you are sensitive to noise, note that there can be some noise at night from being so central. But the double paned windows help a lot. Great breakfast at nearby cafe. Access to the clothes washer was really nice. Alessandro is a fantastic host.

IsraelThe bed was not very comfortable, and in the morning the church bells might wake you up.
Best location ever, 30 seconds feom the Duomo and a few mins walk from everywhere. The rooms were very clean and decorated. Alessandro was very helpful when we arrived. The place also has free self laundry services which was very helpful. Except for the church bells, you don’t hear almost anything from the street even though it’s so central.

RussiaI liked everything!
We came to Florence for the first time! I found the guest house on booking based on reviews, and I made the right choice! Many thanks to Alessandro for the warm welcome! The room is large and clean! There is the possibility to wash clothes in the house, detergents are provided free of charge! There is a common room with a coffee machine, you can make natural coffee! Not all hotels in Italy offer such coffee! There are wine glasses and a corkscrew for bottles in the room! These little things are very important and thank you for having them! The room is large and clean! I definitely recommend this guest house! I also want to express my gratitude to Yariy, he helped with booking a table for our dinner! I also want to note the story opposite the guest house (this is my love at first sight) Osteria Nuvoli (I will of course write a separate review for them) unique, atmospheric and with incredibly delicious food and Italian hospitality!) We liked everything very much, we will definitely come back here again! Florence remained in my heart, thanks to the amazing people we met!
