How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe location was great, as well as the service. The room was big enough for us three, with two terraces. It was very clean.
The breakfast could be better - fewer breads and more proteins. The building was under construction so it did not look amazing. It is in the last floor so, for people who can't take many stairs, it would not be the best option. The hot water did not work all days.

Verified reviewOur room was really pleasant and clean. We had a balcony with an amazing view. The owner was really nice and helpful. Great localisation, nice neighbourhood and just a stroll to the city centre and 20 minutes to the beach. Fantastic stay, and amazing for the price.
Third floor is a bit high, but that’s a price for the view I guess :) Only breakfasts could be a bit better, otherwise everything was excellent.

Verified reviewThe property was very clean and someone was changing the bins in the room and tidying the bathroom everyday. The host was really helpful and greeted us every morning when there were pastries out for breakfast.
Nothing I would stay here again :)

Verified reviewI had an absolutely wonderful stay at this accommodation in Italy. The room was fantastic — extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean, and thoughtfully set up. The air conditioner worked perfectly, which was a huge plus during the summer heat. One of my favorite parts was the gorgeous balcony, where I sat each morning enjoying breakfast and soaking up the peaceful atmosphere. The breakfast provided by the host, Angelo, was fantastic — fresh, generous, and delicious. But what really made the stay special was Angelo himself. He was incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful throughout. Even before I arrived, he helped me figure out the best bus company to book from Naples Airport, which made getting there smooth and stress-free. During my stay, Angelo was always available via WhatsApp and responded quickly to any questions — even at 10pm when I couldn’t figure out the bathroom sink plug! I also asked about the Sant’Anna fireworks, and he confirmed all the details so I wouldn’t miss them. He went above and beyond at every stage. The location was ideal — just a 5-minute walk to the lively city centre, but tucked away far enough to enjoy quiet and calm both day and night. There’s a shared kitchenette/breakfast space available to use throughout the day with everything you might need: tea, coffee, microwave, plates, bowls, cups, and cutlery. Plus, my room had a mini bar fridge, which was great for storing snacks and drinks. This place was everything I needed and more — peaceful, convenient, comfortable, and hosted with genuine care. Angelo is a wonderful host, and I would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommended!

Verified reviewThe room is very nice and spacious enough for 2. The balcony was great for relaxing and enjoying the breeze. Everything was clean and the daily housekeeping was appreciated. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the main square and about 20-25 to the beach. The breakfast is simple but delicious consisting of pastry’s and some meat and cheese. Coffee and tea are also available. The owner was so helpful and kind I would highly recommend this stay.
I did not have a problem with this but there are alot of stairs so be mindful if you are impaired at all.

Verified reviewBreakfast was okay. It was located near a street with many shops and dining spots. Not too far a walk tyo old historical centre.
We experienced a very long and dangerous walk along a busy highway with .5 meter wide shoulder from bus drop-off to get there. Dodging construction materials in stair hall was unpleasant. Worse was huge deposit of well established black mold growing in washroom and starting to spread to the bedroom. Asked owner Angelo to be transferred to other room, he said none available. He told us not to worry as he would get painter in to disinfect and repaint the next day, so we slept there. I caught a minor lung infection. We stayed out all day so that the work could be done, but upon return, we saw that he had only wiped it down the mold in the washroom and you could still see it clearly. It was so bad that I had to sleep in kitchen on chairs to avoid making my breathing worse. Told him we were leaving the next morning and he asked if he could charge for both nights!!!! As soon as we left, he posted the room for rent again without cleaning it. DO NOT STAY THERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR HEALTH.

Verified reviewThe location was perfect to be a short walk to Centre of Sorrento so not too loud. Air con was a relief and the balcony awesome. Kitchen was stocked with cutlery and plates and could make lunches etc. brekkie food also. Angelo was lovely also.
Bed was a little too hard and only one pillow each. Keys were tricky for the doors. Be aware of many flights of stairs to get up with luggage so if you have mobility issues not for you. In saying that Angelo was kind enough to help me with my case and we did book knowing there were stairs.

Verified reviewLocation, though hard to find initially.
Dangerous walk from bus stop, dodging construction materials in staircase but mold in bathroom and bedroom sealed it. Owner claimed to not have other rooms to accommodate us while having t repainted, but just wiped it down. I contracted mould infection, slept second night in kitchen then found alternate place and left. Owner, Angelo did not ask how I was just of he could charge for night sleeping in moldy suite and second night sleeping on chairs in kitchen. He never apologized.

Verified reviewThe location was very convenient, just a short walk from the train station, the city center, and the port. The host was kind and responsive to our questions. Verified reviewIt was in a good location - a short walk from the train station and the centre of Sorrento. Although the property didn't have a lift, the manager kindly carried our suitcase.
It was incredibly basic, bordering on dated. The towels/linen were clean but had seen better days. As had the fixtures and furnishings & general decor. One morning we awoke to no water so had to go out for the day without washing. The electricity kept on tripping out for no logical reason - so we had to flick it back on at the fuse box. The mini-fridge didn't work. The breakfast consisted of stale pastries and doughnuts in a separate kitchen area. All in all very disappointing & certainly not value for money.
