A lovely minimalist accommodation. Extra nice workers at the coffee bar and restaurant serving great food.

Location was perfect. I walked barefoot from the beach to Mare Grande! Room was clean, warm and cozy :)

Absolutely no signal in the room (neither phone signal nor WiFi). Not ideal if you must remain connected. Room is very basic. Toilet paper was lacking.

Right on the beach

Parking and the location. Free easily accessible parking. Practically right on the beach. If you want an semi-expensive beach "camping" experience, this is your place. The kitchen and eating areas are outside and well equipped. An ideal place for families with children.

This place is NOT for couples. In the front room in our beach level rental, there is an "A/C" unit in the room but no condenser outside so it is just a big fan. You can set the temperature but it does nothing. The bathroom toilet leaked so the floor was always wet. The beds were like cement, the pillows terrible. The location is very loud. You are at the mercy of mosquitoes as you cannot close the windows at night and not nearly suffocate. And the "fresh" water from the tap is VERY salty. You have to use bottled water to make coffee, cook and drink.

The location is by the beach. You have to climb steep stairs to go to the center but I prefer being close to the sea. It was clean and simple.

There was no replenishment of towels and it was very small. You wouldn’t stay there for longer than 2 nights.

The location was great with only 3 min walk to the public beach. Parking very close.

The room was extremely small for a family of four. Bare enough floor space to place our luggage there. We were happy that we only stayed one night.

The room was far too small for 4 persons. One tiny wardrobe between 4 . very basic. expected much better

The location is absolutely the best. About 100 m from the beach. Also, the free parking was good to have.

The location was everything - right next to the historic church and the beautiful beach of Tropea - literally a two minute walk away - and just a walk away from the historic centre. It really made staying in Tropea super easy to see and experience everything we wanted to! The staff were lovely - very welcoming and friendly, and while the accommodations were simple, they were clean, spacious and had a wonderful outdoor eating area, which also served as our hangout area. Definitely recommend!

Location is great, close to the beaches (and therefore the though road, which can be heard very loud in the appartments facing the street, but not one situated on the lower level). Appartements have been modernized recently, Air condition works very well.

Wifi didn´t work, restroom facilities did not flush properly.

Good size room with an outside kitchen and eating covered area. Good restaurant on premises that I enjoyed very much. They were reasonable and the food was very good and authentic. Pizza was excellent.

What a fabulous location, right next to the beach where I swam in the most turquoise waters and softest sand. And next to the church on top of the mountain incredible. Not fancy but comfortable and had everything I needed and nice staff😊

The access

Mare Grande is a homespun beach holiday park where people are relaxed and friendly. After some of the crazy drives in Italy, the expanse of the beach and the on-site parking was very welcome. The 'innkeepers' speak just enough English while being wonderfully local Italians, and when they produced the electric tea kettle, still in its box, that I'd requested for my tea-totaling partner, I wanted to kiss them! 'Value for money' is as the photos show - this is like a beach caravan/motel, but to be able to jump in the ocean, use their washing machine and detergent for 5 euro, and their drying rack -- and to then dress up and walk up to the more formal/fancy Tropea town above, was great. Also great local food and warm service at the beachside restaurant just next to the Mare Grande. A great spot.

Everything was as advertised. All good.

I don’t get why some people are giving this a bad review. It was an incredible stay for me and I was there for 20 days. Beautiful beach-front location, clean and comfortable. Staff are so friendly too.

The only thing I didn’t like was that the walls were a bit thin and also WiFi doesn’t work but maybe that’s exactly what you need to switch off.
