Reviews of B&B The Tower

The building is ideally located in the heart of Tropea but a block away from the noise and bustle of the main street. The property is in an old building that has been artfully restored, with some attractive exposed stone blended in with contemporary walls and stairways. The room I stayed in was on the top floor - it had windows on three sides of the room, which made it incredibly light and airy. I just left the windows open the entire stay and had a nice view of the sea. The room was next to the breakfast common room and access to the terrace, but surprisingly there was not much noise noticeable from the room. The terrace has a wonderful sea view as well and is quite large - I think a small restaurant could have seating up there to be the first rooftop restaurant in old Tropea... it works in Amalfi! The room itself was spacious, as was the bathroom. The staff was very helpful and responsive! Overall, a very pleasant stay.

The bathroom in the room I had came with a jacuzzi tub. It was an old and tired-looking unit that has seen better days, and the showering in this tub was slightly precarious if standing up. If it was my property I think I'd get rid of this old unit and put in a normal shower or shower/tub - the bathroom is luxuriously large and a very nice modern shower could be installed and make the experience much better.

Cons: No breakfast at the end of October! No kettle and no teabags in the room

The room looked better in person than in the photos! We just needed an affordable place to spend a night, and got a cosy room with a cute balcony with a partial sea view. The check-in was easy, and the location is super central.

The Tower has a lot to offer, location is great, view from the roof is spectacular. Rooms are big, night and clean. I didn't have a great experience but many people have so probably just a once off.

Hotel advertised breakfast but none was provided. Staff spent more time making excuses than it would have taken to grab a couple bread rolls and switch on the coffee machine. Foam bed mattresses are not good for some people. Airport transfer was advertised but not provided. Spa bath was nice but smelly when turned on.

In the heart of old town and so close to the ocean an all the restaurant and shops.

The staff were very friendly and were able to get me an iron that I desperately needed for my linen clothing that was vacuumed packed.

Steps to the beach, an absolutely divine rooftop!

Fantastic location right in the middle of the town with heaps of great restaurants around, short walk to the beach. There is a great terrace on the roof, great place to sit and have a drink at the end of the day. Pasquale was very attentive, the breakfast was basic but nice, everything you need to start the day.

Lots of stairs to get the bags up (no elevator)

The location was excellent, and the room was spacious and comfortable.

The hygiene standards were very poor. We had a room with a jacuzzi, but it was extremely dirty (see attached photo). The floor hadn’t been vacuumed—even after the cleaning staff visited, it remained dusty. Breakfast was disappointing: on the first morning, the host offered croissants, but on subsequent days, the host was absent and the food wasn’t restocked. If you arrived a bit later, most of the breakfast items were already gone. Additionally, the curtains were thin and let in a lot of light, causing us to wake up very early.

No elevator

This place is a true gem. The hotel room (there are only 7 apartments) was very clean and large, with a cute balcony above a narrow lane with the sea visible at the end. There is also a roof terrace, offering lovely sunset views. The breakfast room is small and clean and you have a buffet breakfast with plenty of choices. Located in the heart of old Tropea, The Tower offers you the perfect base for a visit. This is not a giant place, therefore everywhere is within a short walk (no cars in this part of town). To reach the beach you have to go down the mains steps at the centre of the seafront, and these are not too far away, neither is the port, from where you can visit places like Stromboli and Panacea. Tropea is packed with restaurants, bars and shops and is super lively after sundown but in a good way, not too noisy. The old town, with its narrow lanes is atmospheric and interesting, and the view of the town from the beach is stunning.

No complaints whatsoever.

It is advertised with private parking nearby. We were four motorcycles. When we arrived at the Tower, we were told that we should not have entered as it is a pedestrian area. We are now expecting to receive a traffic infringement fine. The private parking is 2.3 km away. I was contacted by phone to indicate my time of arrival. They should have informed me to go directly to the parking area, (free shuttle service available). It would have made our stay much happier.

Excellent location- right in a city center. Amazing view from the rooftop especially during a sunset. Staff were very friendly and helpful!

Location, big room,place to hang wet bathing suits on balcony, fridge(but free water would be better than paying for it)outlets by the bed, very nice staff, terrace on the roof was exceptional with view and easy access
