Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThis place is amazing! The friendly family who run the accommodation have an incredible story behind the establishment of the chalet. I highly recommend it to everyone. My family and I had the best time and will definitely be back. The majestic views, beautiful rooms, and construction are all top-notch and fascinating. The breakfast is the best, and the overall vibe is incredibly laid-back, making it the perfect place for a getaway. I can’t recommend this highly enough!

Simply amazing Would stay here again in a heartbeat. The owners were very nice and accommodating and even let us check out late. The property and garden are stunning we didn’t want to leave. It’s a windy road so we chose not to drive at night.

NetherlandsAs the last time I checked, Italy was a European country . Muslim women shouldn't be allowed to get dressed in the jacuzzi with burka and 1000 clothes on. In the jacuzzi you go to relax not to wash your clothes. I felt disgusted of it and just went out of jacuzzi when I saw it. So big recomandandation is to make it a rule for everybody : Mandatory swimwear.
Chalet has a nice view with spatious rooms and a nice breakfast. The staff was very friendly so was a nice experience.

SwedenI wish there were more hooks in the bathroom so we didn’t have to change our towels as often. With a beautiful property like this, it is hard not to attract the instagram influencers. There were a group of such people acting like they own this place. They were loud and partied until late and woke us up in the middle of the night. But it really isn’t the owner’s fault.
Beautifully situated and built with very high quality and lots of love. Our room was spacious, tasteful, and impeccably spotless. Climate control is likely provided through floor heating, which makes it very comfortable. There were beach bags with a beach towel and bathrobe for each of us. We’ve stayed at a few different places around the lake, and although the chalet was the most expensive, it offered the best value for money. There were no hidden cost of cleaning fees and changing towel fees like some other properties. The owners seem very genuinely kind and want to provide the guests the best possible experience. The lodge is truly a gem with a soul. The outdoor jacuzzi and the firewood sauna with its huge glass panel created a serene and relaxing experience. The swimming pool, finished with striking dark blue stone tiles, was especially beautiful and quite unusual. Another plus: there were no mosquitoes at the lodge, which is rare around Lake Como. We had a lovely and memorable stay and will definitely return if we visit Lake Como again!

United KingdomSo, I want to be absolutely clear about this, There is NOTHING I didn't like about the property/staff or the services etc. This is more a warning, to those that may be less experienced drivers or not have the means of travel to the location of the property. The road to this property is shall we say unusual/difficult. Its a very windy mountain road, single file traffic for the majority of the road, it is full of blind hairpin bends and using your horn to make others drivers aware of your presence is a must, it goes on for nearly 8KM will take around 20 mins to get back to the lake side taking it steady. The locals will do this a little quicker and they seem to have very little regard for life lol.. (Take a look on google maps) The only reason I say this, is there are no shops or restaurants near the property. You will have to tackle the road if you want to go out for dinner etc. That being said the property does offer a shuttle service and are happy to take you wherever you need to go for a small fee.
What can you say about this property, but WOW!! We have just stayed, here for 5 nights on our honeymoon.. The property is family run, and it really shows. They have really put their heart and soul into making this a very special place to stay. The rooms are so unique, clean and tidy and exceptionally well designed, air conditioning was ice cold, and very welcomed. The real selling point of this property is the location, it lies 600M up the side of the mountain overlooking Lake Como. The views are stunning, and the setting is one of peace and tranquillity. If you want to escape life and just relax its an excellent choice. The family that run the guesthouse make you feel like part of the family, and the owner Luca while he doesn't speak much English is quick with a joke, and very hospitable. All the facilities Pool, Sauna, Sun Lounges, Jacuzzi etc are all first rate, no expense was spared in outfitting this property. The breakfast given the location was surprisingly good with a wide choice of hot and options! Overall, we will definitely visit this guesthouse again.. Its a little slice of heaven.

GermanyIt’s true, the road ist 10-15 min to the lake and curvy but it’s Italy and Como Lake like. That makes that place to what it ist. Usually you plan to go out for dinner at night and there are few restaurants in that area but you have to look for them and you’ll find em. Rather extend dinner plans after you go out for visiting one of the cities around the lake
Absolutely authentic and adorable to stay there. Lovely jacuzzi and sauna until late night. Beautiful view and just lovely people running that place. You can enjoy a full day here at the pool or go out to experience the surroundings

BelgiumNothing really, just be aware that it’s about 10-15 min drive from the lake itself, but it’s totally worth it!
Quite an exceptional place! Very nice and new facilities using natural materials. Enjoyed the views on the lake and surroundings from the room, the pool and sauna/jacuzzi area. Staff and owners are very attentive and friendly. And breakfast is fantastic too We’ve had a wonderful time here and would love to come back.

Austriasometimes a bit noicy - you can easily hear kids through the walls. but...all else was more than making up for it
wow! simply wow. the location is amazing, the breakfast outstanding and the hosts (who live next door) super charming and supportive at first, we thought it is a bit far off the lake but in the end, we loved it. it is the perfect spot for people who love to have an active day and a quiet evening - the view is breathtaking, to be enjoyed from the early morning until late evenings (sundowner past 8pm in August) we went on race cyling tours twice (the place is in the very heart of one of the best race cycling areas in Europe) and hiked the biggest mountain in the region (Legnone) - again, with the chalet being the perfect spot to start your trip at night we went to a recommended restaurant (10 min walking distance) and enjoyed typical local food in a small mountain village we loved it! mille grazie

PolandEverything was 10/10. The only minor drawback was the bedding. We love white, and it looked that way in the photos. I think that would be the wow factor. Everything else is great.
We loved everything about it. It was a true oasis of peace. The views were breathtaking. Very clean, everything was well-maintained and meticulously maintained. Plenty of greenery. The hosts were very friendly and hospitable, always helpful. The property was very intimate, so there was no "fight" to get to the spa. That's exactly the kind of place I love.

United KingdomFrom the moment we stepped through the doors, we knew this hotel was something special and the perfect place for our honeymoon. The warm welcome from Luca instantly made us feel like a valued guest rather than just a reservation number. The room was spotless, beautifully designed, and equipped with every comfort We could have wished for . The view from our window and balcony was breathtaking and was exactly how it seemed from the photos advertised. Service here deserves special mention. Every staff member (family member) We encountered radiated genuine hospitality. They went above and beyond to anticipate our needs before we even voiced them. Whether it was arranging transportation, offering local recommendations, or remembering our breakfast order by the second morning, their attention to detail was impeccable. The on-site dining breakfast was an indulgent spread of fresh pastries, seasonal fruits, and made-to-order dishes, all served in a serene, beautiful setting looking over the mountains and lake. Location-wise, the hotel was ideal — close enough to the main attractions for easy access, yet tucked away enough to provide peace and quiet at the end of the day, or if you just wanted to relax for the day. In a world where true hospitality can be rare, this hotel sets the gold standard. Every moment of our stay felt carefully curated to ensure comfort. We left with our hearts full, our expectations exceeded, and a promise to our selves that we’ll be back soon. A family run hotel which offers a 5 star experience.

SpainNothing just be aware that the road between the lake and the hotel is not easy and long. If you don’t want to enjoy the mountains and the walks there is so point of staying there as each ride will be painful. There is only one restaurant up there and even if the food is ok you will not spend all your meals there
The hotel is wonderful. Very nice decoration and details and very good quality of furniture… service is excellent and you have amazing walks to do.

PolandHouse is all made of wood - looks great but you can hear every single word of other guests in their rooms and all the noises when somebody is climbing the stairs - pretty disturbing etc No heated water in the pool Location - view is really nice but you need to drive like 20min very steepy road with many curves - was really tough at the end of the day, you need to be really a good driver, often no place for two cars on the road Hotel is in the middle of nowhere - there is one restaurant nearby but it was closed when we wanted to eat there, the road to other one recommended was the worst road ever driven in my life - would not recommend it to anyone and there was no food there (you need to call in advance) - so eat down at the likeside
